Portugal could be back on UK naughty step as rate hits 21.5,,UK usually triggers travel warning at 20..Shame as I bet it's mainly The Algarve..BUSBY.

its all a big roundabout at the moment. One country gets it, then it becomes safe. Unlock, then a couple of months later it gets it again.
They need to break the loop, if it was a computer you would just turn it off and on again, problem solved.

Can see this dragging on for ages, we were planning Portugal this year but don’t think we will bother now.

Could quieten down everywhere now Aug is over..Children going back to school so much less travel I hope.BUSBY.
Or are they going to make it difficult to go abroad so we spend the money in the uk?

Not the Algarve, relatively low daily increase there, around 10 or so with one 36. Lisbon area and the north showing daily increases of 150+.

There is an outbreak in Loule involving the local football team. Let’s hope this small spike doesn’t become big.
33 positive cases out of 38 players

That would probably the 36 day.

For each of us on here taking note of what the situation is there are probably 3 for each of us who have no idea whatsoever.
I have friends with mh's. Weight = what about it ? Travel insurance == Really?
Foreign office advice= same as me wouldn't even think of checking it.
so any wanting to go will be going anyway.

We are just north of Porto at the moment, on a campsite. The lady in the shop actually thanked my wife yesterday for being here. She said they’d really missed the British visitors.

Out at the beach boardwalk yesterday and everyone, locals and visitors, keeping distance and most wearing masks even in the street, though that’s not mandatory.

Not had any issues here regarding spikes we have been told, heading to Evora today as the north is a bit chilly mornings and nights!🙀😁

IanRJ Evora is a nice city to visit, great free serviced aire outside the walls about 10 min walk into the city. Will be very hot right now😎
Found some nice bars there, whilst watching wild peacocks roam the streets!

Yeah it’s our second visit there. First time was on a motorcycle tour in 2011. Weather looks like max 32 today, lurvely!

Just had a scorching day at Praia Fluvial de Cardigos. (39.7077229, -8.0126860). Recommended by a Portuguese Brit yesterday all free.

I'd really hope your numbers are wrong!

I'd struggle to find anyone I know that is not well aware of weight issues, always takes out insurance and would not even think for a second to not do it, and is a regular reader of a decent newspaper/site so is well aware of the latest FO advice, not just on where they are going, but other countries as well, as FO advise is a staple report in most broadsheets..

Seriously, I'd be surprised if it was one in 50 MoHo owners were that irresponsible or ill informed.

Think plenty know about weight issues but bury their heads in the sand..I know quite a few who are consistently overweight and a couple who drive vans they don't hold hold a license for..BUSBY.

At least those that bury their heads in the sand are aware of the issue.

For those driving vehicles that they do not hold a licence for, I'd presume they are also uninsured
(or if they have managed to pull the wool over the eyes of the insurance company, they would find themselves uninsured in the event of an accident).
At the very least they should be getting a fine with a comma after the second number and potentially time at her Majesties pleasure

You must live in a different world than me then, quite the opposite on weight, don't know anyone who is in the slightest worried about it, motor insurance maybe but travel insurance naah, read a newspaper , what's that, it's what old fuddy Duddy's do init.
In fact I would say the odds are the other way with only 1 in 50 knowing or catering about any rules, pretty much like corvid actually. :(

GNR DETECTS 612 VIOLATIONS CONCERNING ILLEGAL CAMPING AND CARAVANNING

More than 600 violations were detected by GNR during an operation aimed at inspecting illegal camping and caravanning by the sea in the districts of Setúbal, Beja and Faro, the GNR said today.

In a statement, the GNR said that during the operation, which took place between 20 and 31 August, 71 actions were carried out and 714 vehicles were inspected, resulting in the detection of 612 violations.

This security force highlights the 500 infractions for camping and caravanning in an irregular situation, plus 33 related to the Highway Code and 14 related to nature and the environment.

Approximately 200 military personnel from the GNR were involved in these inspection actions within the “Seguro Seguro” operation.

According to GNR, this inspection aimed to guarantee “public safety and tranquility and the protection of nature and the environment, also contributing to the fulfillment of the exceptional measures necessary to contain Covid-19”.

The GNR added that camping or caravanning outside the designated places, as well as any form of overnight stay, constitutes an environmental offense and punishable by a fine between 200 and 36,000 euros.
