Portugal Tolls (1 Viewer)

I registered on the Portugal toll site for a 30 day pass and got an affirmative response and a message saying I would get an email confirmation. No mail so registered again (now done it 3 times) so does anyone know if you do actually get a mail or not. We went on a toll road today so thought using it may trigger a mail but so far nothing.

You are best buying a prepay card (virtual) online, with the balance going against your reg number.

Toll Card

Unless you come in on certain motorways from Spain, the A22 for example from Seville direction, where you can register at the border, but NOT anywhere else on the motorway as many tolls are electronic only.

Did you give them your card details and if you did can you check if they did a check on the card like a small charge and refund?

Yes there are 3 entries for 0.00, I think I need to cancel 2 of the registration just in case....

Just mailed and they replied, looks like I had 4 accounts they cancelled 3 so only 1 active now (hopefully).

NOT being the money person in this family,i made the mistake of using my card when first coming over. " THEIR MACHINE " takes the photo,you swipe your card,job done. No money was taken from the account during that stay. On checking all the paperwork back...... The machine had printed the WRONG number.....just check your reciept is OK, could be the reason. Best of luck.
You used to be able to call in a local Post Office after 10 days or so to where you are and ask if your number plate flags up as unpaid...... The GNR can get on their computor in the car and see if there are any outstanding tolls to pay. The good bit....... IF you have un unpaid toll flagged up,the " Add on " fine is not that much.
Relax.... You are/were in the Magic Country now/then.

That one seems to point out
various methods, valid for different lengths of time.
I only ever used the toll cards before I got a local car and a transponder as a resident.
sounds like you’re sorted now anyway
