It looks like the Portuguese government are going to ban freeloading/ parking where you might want.

The Portuguese government is starting a reform of the highway code, which includes a crucial change for motorhome operators. This reform effectively provides for the ban on parking your motorhome wherever it is not authorized. In short: prohibition becomes the rule, and freedom an exception ...

I'll believe it when I see it...

I was told it was illegal to stop over anywhere except campsites in Portugal over ten years ago.

The guy who told me was the receptionist at a campsite.

Yeah right mate...

Well I am just saying what the Portuguese government are as posted above.

For any Portugual regulars...
Armacão de Pera €4 parking spot open as usual until June (restaurants open too), Alvor still closed after an outbreak of the scurge (including one death) but rumoured to be re-opening soon. Arade had a few vans there last week... one of my sources is checking it out as I post this. Philipe's place in Silves full but spaces at the other two sites.

This long weekend is total lockdown (must stay in your district) all over the country.
Allowed back out tomorrow.
