Just picked this up from another site.

After reading the article, found that outside of protected and coastal areas you can stay for up to 48 hours in each municipality.

After years of visiting Portugal I think this proposal is the way forward, also the registration upon entry, I would also advocate a fee to be allowed to travel and park-and sleep in your vehicle.

This if adopted could pave the way in the uk also, using the fee to install facilities in the first instance, the use the fees generated to beautify areas, ie, cutting grass on walking/cycling routes, litter picking, planting, stiles, etc

I find it’s the I’ll stay in this spot for months brigade ( all seen-it in Portugal, plants and bark chipping patio installed) that need to just move around and spread the wealth we do generate, freeing up spots so we can all share them.

A general update on Portugal...

A wonderful, historic country.

Super friendly, helpful and kind people.

Warm and sunny.

Beaches, hills, mountains and beautiful valleys.

Very, very affordable cost of living.

Original home of João Cancello, Ruben Dias and Bernado Silva.

The above just scratches the surface of the place.

Totally agree have stayed in Cabanas at least once a year over the last 8 years. Love the place. It’s from a covid perspective I was thinking about. Still need to convince her indoors.
