Portugal at Christmas

So we live in Spain but fancy doing Portugal at Christmas but never been as yet to the country. Looking for any recommendations of where/areas best to stay and or avoid

" Jerez" is terrific at Christmas ,lots of activities & markets .The horse riding/training school is worth a look too .!! A visit to one of the Sherry distillers is a must !! Can't help with 'site's ' though.

we have been going for the last 8 years for Xmas and February (pre covid flying not in the van and stopping on the Algarve ) and the weather has been great , most days t-shirt and shorts in the day jumper at night. Couple of pics. 2018/2019. Word of warning just after lunch on the 24th Dec everywhere shuts then xmas day open as a normal day.
