Hi all ,I am considering this crossing because Portsmouth is only an hour for me whereas Dover is 3 to 4 hrs on a good day that is...my destination will be around the twin lakes area .so a saving in time going will be useful for further touring in that area....what I am asking is had anyone done this route and what is the saving in time ..thanks in advance Roy.

Hi Broken Link Removed
I see you had no replies, just wondered what you decided?

I can see the time saving, but what about the cost comparison?

Done Caen, St. Malo, Dieppe, le Havre, Calais. The most enjoyable by far was Portsmouth to St. Malo.
Ferry port, ship, food, accommodation, entertainment etc. all excellent wont hesitate to use again.

Portsmouth - le Havre for me. .its the easiest and best for my plans on hitting French soil , also a little cheaper now that I have joined club voyage with Brittany ferries. Booked again for June this year for a month tour of Normandy.. Then again in September for another month or so to visit twin lakes and parc verger and many other places that my van wants to take me .lol..if anyone wants the discount code please pm me. Roy
