We've paid just over £800.00 for large kennel, outside cabin, Moho.
We will eat well and watch sea life. What's not to like.
We go in Dec so not a good time to be crossing France.

The calculation by Brian goes to Bilbao not Agde why would you drive to Bilbao 750 miles when Agde is a 100 miles less from Calais according to google by road

Google maps tells me that Agde is 657 km from Bilbao, while from Calais via Paris is 1044 km, plus add on about 200 km to that for going via Rouen which makes about 1250 km or nearly twice the driving distance of getting the ferry.

That does not seem to make sense, to me unless your calculating a toll route. Going via Paris does not make sense in a motorhome due to low bridges. However, looking at the Non toll route the shortest distance on google maps is 1063 KM and does not go through Rouen but down the eastern side of Paris. This would work out at approximately 105-110 Lts of diesel based on a motorhome averaging 30 MPH. So, around £100. The ferry cost to Bilbao around £380 plus fuel to get to Adge, say £60.00 brings it up to around £440 each way. On a return trip there is a big saving to make using the Dover option. I do appreciate its down to personal preference at the end of the day.

We always go the toll roads, prefer the speed to lots of roundabouts and traffic.

You could do a combination of toll and non toll roads and save a lot of money and use almost all motorway and or duel carriageway. The N10 route between Calais and Irun which is toll free only has 100K of single lane road. Worth looking at I.M.O.

Not all toll free now, the A63 from Bordeaux now has tolls, and I do know how to get round the toll booths but quite frankly not worth the bother:)

Still a good route though.

Exit at Jct 18 rejoin at Jct 17, Exit at Jct 12 rejoin at Jct 6 pay at last two Toll booths about 4-6 € in total. That's all you need to pay for whole length.
