Anyone know of day parking for 6m van, got time to spare on Wednesday and would like to visit the Historic Dockyard, don't mind catching a bus, most that I can find have height barriers.

I am aware of the one on Havant Street but might need an alternative if that is full.

last time we visited there was on street by the D Day museum which was not marked off for length, easy enough walk to the dockyards.

You used to be able to overnight further up by the hayling island ferry, not sure if its still ok though.

Not bothered about overnighting, we will arrive about lunchtime for 20.15 sailing to St. Malo and having passed the dockyard from the outside many times thought it might be nice to see the inside:)

New Park and ride opposite the ferry port.

The only park and ride that I can find is off the motorway just north of the ferry port but it has a height barrier, is that the one?
Sorry for delay.
To be honest I'm not sure about height barrier as I've never used it.

Do me a favour when you are there can you ask them about how they got on in the play offs , I have been in remote Scotland so have missed the entertainment ?

Didn't need to ask, my Daughter is a Sunderland season ticket holder.........and they are playing Charlton at Wembley this Sunday:)

Score was 0-0 so Sunderland went through with the 1-0 win at home.

On the website it says there is a height barrier as there seems to be at most car parks in Portsmouth.

They certainly know how to charge for parking, only free parking we found was at Asda for 3 hours, even charged on the seafront at Eastney.

We did manage to squeeze into the only car park without a height barrier near to the Historic Dockyard and obtained free entry to walk around but the prices were eye watering to go into any of the ships or museums so we didn't.
