Hi all anyone stayed at islas garden near Porto would like any comments please

Parque de campismo da Madalena

We stayed here which was very convenient ( cycle ride into Porto ) .

If you mean Istas Gardens, yes. Lovely small campsite with a pool, lounge, kitchen, barbacue area and washing facilities. Super friendly hosts who will take you in their car to Porto, and pick you back up. I think we paid €6 for that. Not a cheap site €50 per night from memory, but worth it IMHO.

We stayed at the Park Biologico de Gaia in January. It was very wet when we were there but a quiet, pleasant stay. It is AIRE like rather than campsite but it has all the basic facilities and access to the park. And of course much cheaper than Islas Gardens. The deer are pretty close to the fence. We got an Uber to travel into the city. There’s a Lidl fairly close by.

We were looking at Istas Gardens recently and found it had many good reviews, but seems the minimum stay is 4 nights (€50 per night) which was too long for us. In the end, we went with Orbitur Canidelo (reasonable reviews) on the coast, which didn't seem to have availability for us online but managed to get booked in by email.

We fancied this site too, but they don't take reservations and apparently are usually full each day from now until the end of summer, so getting a space is a bit potluck on the day - only 9 spaces.

I’m not surprised, we were there in January, in foul weather and arrived early,…and it was still half-full.

Not sure how close you want to be to Porto but we stayed here last year which we really enjoyed, some nice local restaurants.

About a 15 min walk to the train station direct into Porto - about 30 mins if I remember. The station is at the back of one of those out of town shopping places.
