Hello all. We are off to meet our son and the grand kiddies in north wales next week, very exiting, its been a while. The wife has always fancied visiting Portmeirion, so I thought perhaps we could leave a little earlier and have a look, my concern is are the parking spaces small ?

Thanks for your thoughts

Roger

I did think portmerion were having part of their car park as a motorhome stopover.best to check on line. It is a large car park but spread over a couple of areas as I recall.

Never managed to make it as there is a ban on dogs and ours goes everywhere with us! However and someone will correct me but there is ample parking at Porthmadog on the beach, please look it up and you can catch the train/walk to Portmeirion, from there

We parked out motorhome in the car park there no issues.
That was a few years ago, but I doubt it's changed.

They have big carpark and was not an issue for us in 2019

We was there last year in between lockdowns, and they allow you to park in the upper car park where the coaches park

Make sure you check how much it is to visit . HOW MUCH!!

The carpark at Portmeirion is fine for motorhomes. They also have some proper motorhome pitches where you can stay overnight with EHU but we’re not finished when we were there at the end of April. They also looked like some of them were on a bit of an incline, a pet hate of mine especially as they would have had a digger there at the time and another scoop with the bucket would have levelled it off. Have a good time. (y)

Similar...we went after checking the website and no mention of dogs not being allowed.
Turned away at the gate.

the joke I made to the lad about my dogs not just being "number but having names" and I wouldnt want em being "prisoner" in the van went wayyyyy over his head.

He's doing a job..... He probably knows nothing of the history of the place and possibly cares even less.

They did allow dogs at one time as there's a quite large pet cemetery in the woods and residents are possibly still allowed them

We were there earlier this month. Plenty of room for our vans. The MH aire not finished.
You can go in and park before the ticket booths where you show your booking reference.
I thought it was clear on the website, no dogs but maybe they have updated it.
Definitely worth visiting especially whilst not yet busy.

We went many, many years ago and it was 'no dogs' then, I'm not sure it's the sort of place for kids though as there's wasn't much to do other than potter round when we went.

We always said we must go there so we did. That done, what to do for the rest of the day .....
Not exactly captivating TBH.

It seems a great many attractions are loosing the younger demographic, as is many hobbies and sports such as golf.
So many are in deep debt, and brought up in a digital age which is alien to many mature people, PS3/4?
I appreciate we are witnessing a resurgence of Motorhome interest, but my gut tells me that few younger people will want to fettle or repair all weekend.
Let's see what happens however my feeling is if your selling now is the opportunity, next year will be another matter.
Come in number 7
