bought one of these to use via iPad and AirPrint in the motorhome
My question is ......... Will it " marry " to a CC WiFi network on site to facilitate printing ?
Cheers !

If it's a true AirPrint printer then you should be able to set up an Ad-Hoc network between your iPad and Printer to allow printing.

What's the model number of the printer?

It's a WF-100

Ok, I think there are two ways you can try.

One option is to buy a cheaper wifi router and set up a simple network, connect the ipad and printer to this network and print using Apple's AirPrint feature or Epson's iPrint app.

The second option is to run the printer in Simple AP Mode, it looks like a setting under Network Settings/WiFi Setup/WiFi Setup Wizard.

I believe there is an Epson app you can get, called iPrint. This should allow you to link directly to the printer.

Would I need a wifi connection , want I want to do is print stuff out using CC or pub or campsite wifi ?

Does the app and the printer communicate without wifi tho ?

In order to use the campsite wifi both your printer and iPad would need to be connected to the same wifi and you'd need the allocated IP address of the printer which would change every time you connected.

It really would be simpler to buy a cheap router and set up your own network or use the AP method I mentioned earlier.

It might, setting up a local link, can't see why it shouldn't - but the app is free so I can only suggest giving it a go.

It does work on a WiFi network as they connect via the internet - the printer could be at home and you on a CC site!

Talk to me about the AP method , I'm lost !

Bluetooth printers are the way forward, no wifi needed, a little dearer but well worth it.

Can someone recommend a good/inexpensive/light weight printer to work wireless with IPad?

In which case, I'd refer you to the above posts, this Epson got a recommend from a user. Not used it myself, so couldn't say. I only have a photo printer in the van.

The Epson , according to the website , prints photos as well as documents.

Indeed, however, a dedicated photo printer will probably use the thermal print system, and give a better quality print. An inkjet will print onto photo paper, which gives pretty good results to be fair. If you want both, then a portable inkjet like the Epson sounds ideal.

The only downside is that the unit ain't that cheap ( I gave myself a cheeky treat ! ) and printing pages is about 6p for black and 15p for colour .
Can't wait to use it in anger in the MH ! I love gadgets me !
