Port Vendres Aire? (1 Viewer)

Has anyone stayed at the aire at Port Vendres? just north of the Spanish border.

We want to meet up with friends who are taking an appartment in Collioure about 1 km north of Port Vendres and can't find a campsite open within striking distance, this will be the 3rd week of October.

Loads of campsites in the area but most as usual close 15 September or there abouts.

So we are looking at this aire for a 3 day stay but having been robbed just over the Spanish border some years ago now have reservations.

Anyone with any knowledge of this area?

Stayed there just after easter this yr-busy site,felt secure-bit of a walk into Port Vendres,but there are taxis.

As said a busy aire, I have parked on the carpark overlooking the port just as you come down the hill on your left in winter with no problems. The aire is quite a way out of town. Camping Oliviers is open all year round on the Argeles road leaving La Balou. As you probably know its impossible to park in Coliure.

Just remembered, theres a good aire behind the churchyard in La Balou.
The area is very well known to me as I used to live in Sorede.

Thank you Mike and thank you Mr snowbird, your answers have made us very happy, aren't these forums fantastic.

Our friends don't get to Europe so often these days and it's a while since we met up, they will be as pleased as us that we have a few options to stay in the area.
