I'm toying with the idea of building a moho from scratch, buying a new fiat doblo van and then putting windows in and constructing the interior to suit. I want to be able to stand up so is there a source for a pop-up roof ?
Or do I have buy a hi-top van?

Can't remember ;)
Hi Doblo vans are only about6 ft in the rear but you can get pop-up roofs although it will only give you about 3 ft of useful room to stand up in.
I converted a VW caddy max and the only thing missing was headroom đź‘Ť Good luck with your choice of van.
I personally would go slightly bigger with Vito, traffic or Transporter . Transporter hold onto money and after 4 yrs plus will be worth double what others are worth and probably 4 times more than a Doblo

What about a slight larger van, like a Nissan nv200 or a Peugeot expert?

Simalar price and footprint but more living space, due to the cab forward design.

Cheers James

Thanks James, yes I was looking at the Nissan, for that very reason.

Any van will do IF you are keeping it for a long time. A T5 is not much bigger, will cost the same to convert and be worth double or treble the price of other vans in 5 years time
I like Vito and traffic vans better than the VW to drive but it makes much more sense to convert a VW .Do your homework

I'm trying to get under 4.5 mtrs, it's in addition to the 7.5 metre Autocruise. I just want a small vehicle for city use.
