Our camper has a pop top. The flexible plastic windows are showing signs of wear. I think they need a good clean. I have tried cleaning with a soap solution but not too successfully. Any suggestions that might help?

A brick can make the opening very clear!

Well it would add a touch of 'je ne sais quoi' but it won't clean my windows. At the moment all is as clear as mud and some daylight on the problem would be useful!

A Google finds a few suggestions on how to deal with yellowing windows on the hoods of convertible cars. They may be snake oil.

I've no idea if it can be done. My fear is the UV will have done irreversible damage but it may be possible to improve things with a silicon spray. Beyond that I don't know. :)

Thank you DBK, I'm a bit wary of anything abrasive or chemical, but silicon oil might be good. I may mix up a stronger soap solution and try that. Previously I've just wiped thevwindows with water, or the morning condensation, but because the roof had been down since December the windows seem decidedly murky.

I would be tempted to try a little liquid plastic cleaner on a small inconspicuous area if it was mine.

You could try Renovo Plastic Window Polish or similar from a chandlery

Renovo as above, but only real fix is to have the windows replaced.

I'm going to give them a good soapy wash inside and out. If that doesn't work then I'll get some Renovo, and if that doesn't work we can get them replaced. Thank you all for your help.

Might be worth checking out headlight restoration kits. Most modern headlights are plastic and yellow up quite badly, you can polish up very well but add a sealer afterwards otherwise they will yellow again.
Check out utube videos to see difference it can make

Problem with headlights is the constant sand-blasting they get from road dust,
I polished ours with very fine sanding discs down to 1200 grit, started at 240 grit, then a polishing mop, worked a treat.
