The German owner of the huge green Carthago spent all day polishing it up.

Rather him than me... ;) :)

No idea if it is a standard colour? But he had a Smart car with exactly the same paint job. Must admit, not my favourite shade.

You have to be careful with polishing roofs especially as they become really slippy when you have done them, he must have a rear ladder.
A few people have slipped off and lived to regret it.

He has ruined the re-sale value of his van in my opinion.

If you have an Auto Sleeper with one if those 1 piece glass fibre bodies, a monocoque (spelling?)
Do not polish the roof, or the white bit that are the sides above the green.
You will be forever and a day cleaning off the black streaks running down, in great profusion!:swear2:

Guess who did? and then read not to on the Auto Sleepers Owners Forum.

We saw the same van at the Carthago factory in Germany I think the owner painted it , not a big fan of green

Agreed, I watched him reaching down polishing just above the top of the windscreen. Made me extremely nervous.

I don't know about slipping and 'living' to regret it - I reckon, land on your head and kill yourself from that height! :( :(

And it sounds as though it might not be a standard colour, so yes no doubt compromised the resale value. :giggle:

I reckon green blends in far better in rural, scenic locations than those boring, generic white (plastic looking ) motorhomes...

JJ

It nearly happened to me, polishing the sloping front, having cleaned and carefully and highly polished the rear part, I was just aware of starting to slip. Looking at the hard drive and low wall ahead, thought ooooh no! Luckily I was wearing rubber crocs (all the top industrial gear!) so dug in and was just able to stop the slide, and then gradually work myself backwards. Phew. Lesson learnt. Don't polish the roof while you're still on it.

Matches the lamppost!

I remember reading recently on outandaboutlive a lady said her father had fell off his motorhome roof and fractured his skull, will never fully recover, its a dangerous game.
