Tour Guide Wanted Poland by motorhome – yes or no?

Have just finished a 25 day tour of Poland with the Caravan and Motorhome Club. We would definitely encourage people to visit the country. Language was not an issue, google translation sorts most issues out.
People were friendly and helpful.
In hindsight we should have traveled independently as everywhere was easily accessible. Sites are very basic to say the least bur facilities were very clean.
Comfort insurance definitely cover Poland

We went to Poland in September last year. I found it a mixture of lots to like and one thing I didn't like.

Highlights:

Wolf's Lair. Fascinating place and the audio guides were the best we have ever encountered anywhere. You can pay to stay overnight. My favourite visit in Poland.

Polanica-Zdrój, a lovely town and a delicious lunch at Restauracja Bukowa. My second favourite visit in Poland.

Wrocław. The bronze statuettes! My third favourite visit in Poland.

Krakow. Very touristy but very attractive. Great just for a wander around.

Wieliczka Salt Mine. Amazing.

We rather got the impression that Polish people were not particularly friendly but that's a bit unfair I think. We actually had some great interactions with people in shops, cafes, trams etc when we had a reason to talk to them about something, like asking for advice. But we noticed that people didn't tend to say hello or nod when you were just passing them, even when out in the middle of nowhere. Since we had recently done the Wild Atlantic Way in Ireland, that was quite a contrast.

It was easy to find free park ups. We only stayed a couple of nights in campsites.

We intended visiting Auschwitz but didn't. You seemed to have to book days in advance via a rather confusing website. I hate being tied down to a schedule when touring in the van so we gave it a miss. We did visit Treblinka and Madjanek.

We also didn't find time to visit Gdańsk or the area around, which I would do next time.

I’m originally from Poland and now live in the UK. I’ve noticed that when people talk about touring Europe in their motorhomes, France, Spain and Portugal seem to come up a lot, but Eastern Europe — particularly Poland — much less often.

For those who haven’t toured Poland before, what would be your biggest question or problem?

Roads? Campsites? Language? Driving? Places to visit? Or something else?

I’m just curious to hear what you think. 🙂

I was thinking about the route

what do you think? any ideas welcome ;)
