Hi Everyone.
Does anyone have any trouble with the above said dispensers suddenly depositing its contents all over the sink/worktops in their vans?
i'm assuming its vibration causing it when travelling , what do you peeps use ? some sort of holder or similar , once the plunger is released for use its a pain to put it back to 'locked' position. Any answers gratefully received

Many Thanks Steve.

All of mine with the press-down pump lever on the top are exactly the same. They all sit in a puddle of their contents since to push the plunger down to lock it necessitates pumping out a squirt of the contents.

We had a spray bottle of 'pink' for the toilet. It would be fine when the van was just sitting for days, so temperature wasn't the issue. Most journeys we'd be OK. Then occasionally it would have squirted pink fluid all over the place. Eventually we worked out it was altitude. Going over mountain passes would cause it to leak.

I think it's the temperature that spews it out, the one on our kitchen window sill has done it once the sun starts beaming through the window, and no vibrations anywhere !
Can you "lock" the nozzle back down in its "for sale" position straight after you use it ?

I have a plunger type hand sanitizer. I find when the van warms up in the sun, the stuff expands and bleeds out.

May be a possible cause?
I’ve had exactly the same with liquid soap in our van, I now unscrew the cap half a turn and that appears to be sufficient to let the pressure out(y)

Cheers

Trevor

Assume you mean liquid soap - we just lay down in the sink when travelling so if there is any spillage is washes away really easily.

You'd think it would pressure equalise naturally as air must be able to get in for the soap to come out 🤔

Found the biggest problem is getting the darn plunger to unlock in the first place. Have been transferring a working one to new bottle for ages. Not noticed any leaks while travelling though.

I put shower gel and shampoo in them saves time in the shower 😎👍

Treeeev, that’s how we deal with it. The pressure build-up from heat (or traversing high-altitude mountain passes!) causes the soap to be forced out. Undoing the cap just a little means the increased pressure is released without spilling a drop.
