I'm a newbie
Right, I've had this van 4 months and it's been nowhere

We'll be off the blocks the first dry weekend after we're released

Given the fact it's not stopped raining for a month I'd prefer roads to and from the pitch, hardstanding and public transport to a town

Shropshire, derbyshire,lancashire,cheshire etc

Waits in anticipation

If you are a caravan club member, Lady Margaret’s Park in the grounds of Chirk Castle is lovely.

Depends on how much luxury you want.

Shrewsbury Showground is good when it’s dry (not flooded). Basic facilities and a short walk into the town. Shrewsbury is a great place to wander. Pubs. River.

Oxon Hall, Shrewsbury

Pitch up
Cracking Chinese takeaway at entrance to site and a CoOp for 99% of provisions
( your 1st trip- you WILL forget something)

If the park and ride not running- £5 for a cab to Shrewsbury centre
👍

Warrington, 50 mins.....
jump on the 56, down the 55 off at llandullas north wales and give bron y wendon a try
A new guy has bought it just before xmas.
While you are there go to the Valentine Inn and have a drink or a feed with Luke and Becky, 2 of the best hosts I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Lovely little village pub.

On your way back stop off at one of the many coats spots and possibly even new brighton maybe for the day or stsy over on forch perch car park wilding and even west kirby and then had back through the tunnel and m62.

If you want to just give it a dry run to test out first time etc, Lady Heyes is just round the corner from you at Delamere.

All the best on your new venture.

Bit far for a first trip but thanks

bad memories of Rutland water though , I'm originally from Kettering , in the 80s I bought a very expensive video camera, 1st trip out was Rutland water only I slipped on wet mud , fell face first , put my hands out and well

Amazingly it still worked once it'd dried out but I was picking mud out of it with a cocktail stick for days

Thanks for the tips, I'll check them out :giggle:
