We're going to Scotland at Easter, France in August and France for Christmas and New Year. Not sure where we'll be heading to exactly but plenty of time to sort that bit out. Fingers crossed we'll get more weekends away this year than last.

Nearly forgot Matt's arranged a "lads cycling holiday" and is taking three of his friends over to watch the Tour de France.

Where are you off to?

29th April-one way Ferry ticket Dover-Calais,turn right down to Baie de somme then see what happens. Back after 6-8 weeks, then up to Siloth for a week on way to Scotland.
Home whilst schools are on hols cos every where is so busy.
Then off to Denmark end of Aug.seeing friends and 'doing' bits of Scandanavia and getting home October sometime, maybe via Germany and Austria.
This will be the 1st yr when we are both retired,so no hassle to be anywhere at any specific time. We are excited and aprehensive at same time ::bigsmile: Mike

Feb - Funster meet in Scunthorpe, then Sailing season starts again so go away most weekends to events. End of July beginning of August we are heading to Weymouth, well Portland, to spend a week in the Roller Team, at the Sailing Academy as Emily is competing in the National Championships. Hoping we might get a week or so away before end of school holidays but that depends on how busy our business is.

First three meets with FUN people - now that's a treat in itself. Done one, thanks *again* to Suzy and Bryan. FUN people are very addictive.

Then Italy via France and Switzerland with a return via south of France. With FUN people. About a month. Anything less than GREAT will be considered a disaster.

Then more FUN meets in the UK.

Plans

Off to NEC show in Feb, then time away in UK if/when the weather brightens up, then over to France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France for 6 weeks in May/June. This will be the first time over there for us. Do you think 6 weeks is enough for all that?

Yes and no.

There is soooooooo much to see, after a few weeks a mist comes down, can't take yet another MAGNIFICENT. But on the other hand 6 years is not enough.

I suggest some days of MAGNIFICENT and a week of feet up and so on. Don't try and do too much, leave that to the Americans.

There is nothing at all wrong with Germany but I'd drop it from your itinerary or else you are just skimming and seeing nothing.

You might consider limiting Italy to Garda/Florence and have a really good taste of Italy that will pull you back. Garda for recovering in the tranquillity and Florance which is small and manageable with all the necessary magnificent sites. But Rome is and easy drive from Florence if you want to tread in Ceasar's steps. Stop a bit outside Rome and take the cheap train in. The resort of Lido di Ostia has many sites and is a quick train journey into Rome.

Just my opinion mind, if you want a good broad look at Europe then go for it.

France for the whole of June, visiting the campsite we worked on in 2008 in Burgundy, then on to visit two families we know who have relocated in the Toulouse area and then on to the Med to visit a courier couple we have met through working.
THen there will be trips to the Peak District with the bikes and hopefully S. Irleand to visit relatives there.
Busy year!!

We will open a Eurotunnel frequent traveller account at the end of April and then hope to make the 5 trips to Europe up until the beginning of October like we did in 2009 being retired we have plenty of time to do this , but during winter I have a part time lorry driving job 2/3 days a week to add to the " Motorhome holiday fund " to which is looking very healthy to date so roll on summer.:thumb:

Our plans are gradually being made. April will see us visiting Bognor, Poole, Romsey, Longleat, Bath, Bradford on Avon and Peterborough. The Funster trip to Lake Garda will see out May and June. The Americana and a holiday rally in Tenby are planned for July. August will hopefully include visits to Cwmcuttan, The Bristol Baloon Festival and a holiday rally at Selsey. We then have a visit to France planned for all of September.
A busy 6 months for us which we are really looking forward to, hope to meet a few Funsters on our travels.

Brisey.
