5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
I am planning to go to Hungary late April next year, any tips for places to visit? Road users tips and anything else about MH'ing there ? Thanks for any info.

We loved Hungary.

Visited Budapest (stayed at Camping Haller in the city centre), Lake Balaton (very touristy, but a great lake) and Heviz for the spa (very luxurious, would recommend a full day there and take a picnic. Surprisingly not too expensive either). Need a motorway pass thingy, and I can't remember how we got that now. Probably online before we left.

Even passed a fellow funster on the road out there - we enjoyed a manic light flashing and waving session for a couple of seconds on the road as we passed! I'm ashamed to say I can't remember their username now, but if you're reading this - Hi again!

We're off to Hungary, as part of a longer trip, taking in Sziget Festival in Budapest (8-15 August). Will look forward to hearing how you get on, as we've never ventured further than France & Spain so far!

I will be there on the 15th may after visiting Prague and then we will be off to Greece via Serbia and Macedonia.
Depending on how long you are visiting I believe you buy an electronic vignette on line. In Czech you buy your vignette as soon as you go over the border- usually at a filling station

Zugligeti 'Niche' Camping has anyone stayed here in hungary going around end of may ?

Would also be interested in a review of Zugligeti 'Niche' camping, as we're hoping to go there in the summer.

Hi
Just a few ideas of places to see in Hungary. We have been there 3 times and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Some interesting places are Pecs, Lake Balaton, Eger, Lillifred, Esztergom and of of course Budapest.
Driving is ok and a vignette can be purchased at service stations near the border.
For more info visit our site look up Hungary. http://www.travelbunyip.com/homepage/
On our map in 2014 we have marked the places we stayed with the GPS co-ordinates and other info.

Apart from the cities and towns we loved the small villages and the countryside.

If you are intending to visit Hungary, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Slovakia or North-eastern Croatia please contact us for any information you may need. We own a small 5 pitch camp site with showers, toilets and EHU approx 40 kms south of Lake Balaton. All Motorhome Fun members are welcome and we will be happy give a 10% discount on our prices should we see the sticker displayed on arrival. Spend a few days with us for some well earned R and R, relaxing in our orchard garden or visiting one of the three spa towns within 20 minutes of us. We organise many escorted day and half day excursions where you can leave your motorhome securely on site and enjoy the local food and wines as well as the wonderful lifestyle that can be had in this area of Hungary . There is Budapest, Balaton and Heviz....but come and experience the "real " Hungary without the crowds at Broken Link Removed in the delightful village of Koppanyszanto.
