We have to travel down from Scotland to the Midlands tomorrow. So looking for a stopover maybe near the Lake District....

Preferably not to far from the M6 ..

Suggestions welcome ..

Thanks.

not long enough
Come off M6 at Tebay junction (not services) take Kendal road south, there are several good parking options there within a couple of miles

I have presumed you didn't want a site

If you are just looking for an overnight stop you can use the P & R at Lancaster. It is just a few hundred yards off junction 34.

Sorry should have said.... A site would be best. Wife is not well so going home early. If we can find a nice site we may stop a couple of days. Either way doing the whole run in one hit is difficult.

Thanks.

Woodclose Park Kirkby Lonsdale is good. About 15mins off the M6 though.

There is a campsite right in Penrith. I have used it several times. Well organised with hard standings as well as grass. Only downside is a railway relatively close.
