Hi all,

Can anyone please recommend a place to park up for a day and night within walking distance of Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, outside Macclesfield.

Thanks friends 😊

There is the red lion at goostrey, they used to do overnight stops but it's not walking distance.I don't know of any wild camping spots but there are a few lay-bys you could try. (y)

What about the De Trafford arms pub?

Wonderful! Do you know if they charge or willingly accept camper vans?

Never done this before, so not sure of the etiquette!

Any knowledge & expertise greatly appreciated.

Thanks 😊

Best to phone first. But you could try any of the pubs around there I'm sure they would be happy for your patronage (y)

Not walking distance to JB and I think they may be a bit sniffy about motorhomes, the carpark isn't that big either. You could try ringing though.
There aren't really any campsites close by either.
You may need to drive there, or cycle if you have bikes and can do a few miles, it's fairly flat around there.
The Red Lion Goostry may be your best bet, but ring first (y)

Pubs often let you stay overnight if you a meal or even a few drinks. Give them a ring

Enjoy your rental!
Best way is to suss out anywhere on Search for Sites then Google Earth, look for decent size car parks etc then ring and ask nicely whats possible.
Most pubs will, if they have the space, let you stop over but dont expect to empty grey or black water although you may be lucky- just dont spoil it for others.
Is there no parking at Jodrell Bank itself, again Google Earth will show you and if you ask you might be able to stop there.
Enjoy
