Going to Dusseldorf show and would like to spend some time looking at historic industrial areas. Will go back to Wuppertal. Believe there are remains of mines. Love to hear any suggestions also waterways in addition to the main rivers. Have quite a few weeks so any 'must see' would be great.

Peenemunde has a museum about rockets. It is where the original work on the V2 was done. :)

Don't know if the overhead trams are still operating in Wupperthal (Eisenbhan?)
On the road there from Dusseldorf you can pass through Hilden. Just outside Hilden you pass through Benrath. There is an interesting Shloss (castle/chateau) there that might be worth a visit.

When I was knocking around that area in the late 50s the Rhine was the sewer of Europe. We canoed from Dusseldorf to Aachen on the Rhine. It wasn't a very good experience!
