Hi.
I wonder if any members know how to connect a house PIR to the vehicle alarm system. I have seen it in another motorhome covering the habitation side, so know it must be possible. The alarm in the cab has a negative and positive triggers bonnet boot or doors such as connected to the interior light and would set off the alarm if the door is open. Making a full circuit in the pin switch. I wrongly assumed the PIR would send a positive or negative feed setting off the alarm. The Honeywell PIR I have purchased has C & NC. This circuit is always open and closes when the PIR is activated. I can't find any other makes that work I I need. My thought is to fit a relay to convert the open circuit to a triggered circuit. Do any members know of another way a can do this. Many thanks

Normally when you fit additional sensors to a Motorhome alarm you have to recode the main alarm unit to recognise it, often it requires recoding all the sensors. They only give the info on how to do it to the installers.

Hi I have done this with a relay so when the pir operates it breaks the circuit to the relay and operates the no and common contacts. When in not in use 8 have a hidden switch to the relay to disconnect the power so the relay is not energised all the time and clicking on and off been using this set up for about 10 years

As you have said above a pir with clean contacts is required I have used 1 amp. Fuses and a couple of free wheel diodes just for good measure
