Watching her this morning she had the base of her bed out and was humping it….bit early but she is advanced in everything so will see what Vet reckons when we go for last jab in couple of weeks.
Minky has been humping stuff occasionally for a while, it's a bit difficult at times for me when I'm trying to do some stuff on my laptop and she wants to hump my arm! 😊

She has started chewing hard now, got a special chew bone for her trouble is when she decides to play with it that’s when it gets thrown and it lands on your toes…..ouch!
Try small rawhide chews, they've been a godsend for us, we have loads scattered around so if she wants to have a chew of something we can grab one and stick it in her gob.

Not a fan of the small Rawhide chews as they can choke a dog. Gina loved them and was very careful how she ate them but Fudge (disaster dog all round) just comped & swallowed!

I’ve been giving Yoshi bully sticks as they are slightly softer than rawhide, not been chemically treated but still last well atm, out of the pack of about 8-10 pieces at £2.89 we still have 2 being chewed that are still around. The others have either been lost or eaten!

This our JR Daisy, she‘s a real character, and is great fan of the motorhome . When the van’s in the driveway she demands access to the passenger seat where she‘ll sit there all day if you let her.

I’ve got some Rice bones from Pets@Home at present they are 99p and she loves them but she doesn’t clear the crumbs yet so we feel as tho we are walking on gravel in the van!
She has decided she likes a bit of cucumber and baby sweetcorn after her supper, Gina used to have a selection of raw veg after her supper, it helps to clean their teeth and give a bit of a ‘full’ feeling without the calories!

Good idea, thanks old-Mo but I don’t think we have room for a box full in the van!
Will have to stick to a few at a time!

Edit. Just been reading about humping and apparently female & male puppies from 6 weeks old will hump, playfulness or stress. Seeing as she was playing I‘ll put it down to that, but will still talk to Vet.
No way we could cope with a litter in the van!

Our Patterdale bitch is 10 this year and still humps her bed 🙄

Poor Pip!
Settled onto a CS yesterday was obvious next door had a big dog by the elevated food/water bowls.
Turned out to be a St Bernard which is given a very long leash tethered to the caravan.
Nick took Pip out for her after dinner walk-I was cooking ours-there was an almighty screaming and howling, it was Pip. The St B had run out to see her and she thought she was being attacked, so did I (owner got pulled over by the St B)
The leash the St B is on will reach our pitch and almost across the main site track!
So this morning we have moved away from them as every time she went out she had one eye on the caravan and was obviously worried about the dog!
I was annoyed as when I told owners she is only a baby & hasn’t met many dogs yet all he said was this one is 3 and a right nightmare!
Some people! A big dog like that needs strong discipline otherwise they do become a nightmare!
Anyway she seems happier now we are not next door to it, may have put us back a bit in the dog socialisation tho!

Just bought Kerry a bag of Rice Bones... Don't think they're quite as large as the 99p ones but the packaging said up to 27kg (her weight).
Demolished one in 23 minutes, but she only has half her teeth these days.
We'll see what her digestion makes of it tomorrow

Pippa hates water!
She will avoid a puddle, the Sea she just doesn’t want to know, rock pools-no way, you can keep them and rain……’I will stay indoors thanks’
Today we took her out in light rain, she got very wet and seemed to love it, went bonkers round the van after being dried off. Hopefully this will sort it for her.
4 months old today and finished with the jabs until next year.

Yes, it shouldn’t be too hard on a beach, but we are prepared to wait and see, apparently her mum hates water too. This afternoon was really good as this morning she was quite stressed at going out in the rain. Think this afternoon helped as we walked to Pets@Home and she went in there and a Matalan then had to wait with Nick outside Morrisons and got loads of attention from people, which she loves, she is a people ‘person’ and is a bit of a magnet for dog lovers.

Found a good way to let Pip chew something to destruction, to really destroy something…….
the cardboard inner from Kitchen paper.
This is just a small example-

I’ve tidied several cardboard ‘snow storms’ away this morning, but it’s worth it as she hasn’t chewed anything that she shouldn’t……….yet!

You, lucky person, don’t know her!
Yes she is lovely, she has a very sweet nature and is not scared-so far-of anything, Fireworks were going off fairly nearby and she just lifted her head, listened for a moment then went back to sleep!
She learns really fast and is keen to learn which helps, she makes us laugh every day and every now & then comes up for a cuddle, she gives lovely kisses even if they are a bit wet!
She has some adult teeth now, just the small front ones.

Pippa is a gummy dog. Just pulled out a canine tooth that was hanging on a thread of skin & annoying her. We have found a couple of pre-molars. She has her new front teeth top & bottom too.
She was 5 months old last Saturday, think she may be a bit advanced!

Pip has had her Rabies jab this afternoon, £51 not too bad.
The practice was good, clean and tidy and friendly, one Vet even made a special visit to Pip in the waiting room just to have a cuddle with her.
The Vet we saw was very good with her, making a fuss of her and she wrote her name, Vet number, and full address of the practice, where her chip is located. She did all this as Pip is not registered with this Vet we were just using them for the jab as it wasn’t too expensive but as she said ‘belt & braces’. She also said the AHC filling out is a nightmare and she’s done quite a few, another thing she said she thinks it may well all change, but didn’t say how!
So at least now she has her jab, one step in the right direction.

Our 3 had their rabies jabs this morning, Minky didn't want to go with the vet so he had to pick her up, fortunately he didn't get savage or licked to death ... whether she tried to bonk him in the consulting room though I don't know! :giggle: Lily did her 'jelly' impression and Tazzy wasn't bothered until she realised it was her turn to go into 'the room'!!! The vet kept each one for a while and did a thorough health check first coming out to ask us about Lily before he gave her the jab.

The Vets, on the whole, are a lot nicer than they used to be.
It was ’is this the animal? Bish bash bosh done goodbye.
Now they make a fuss of the animal and talk to them and you.
I know they are expensive and the cost isn’t set in stone but where would we be without them?
