My Tip of the Day. I have a guy who works on Baileys, Bustner, Auto-Sleepers, Eldiis......every day.
He has done a few jobs for me now, fitted a Fiamma F45s to last MH Bailey Approach Autogaph 750, fitted Vision Plus arial to current MH and a few other bits.
On the 750 the flush pump stopped working. He came down, brought new pump, circuit switch and other bits and bobs.
10 mins later he had fixed it.
The pump had gunjed up. He just stripped it down and cleaned it out.
Apparently the pink chemical mix after a while begins to grow a mould, regardless of brand. Even the brand dillution recommended mix should still be watered down further.
I flushed out my current MH flush tank and you could see the mould collected at bottom of flush pipe in beside the Thetford tank.
I now just put in a hint of Pink chemical and flush out after each trip.
Could save a few quid!

PS. New on here where do I find the classifieds?

Its about 50/50 now whether your MH has an additional flush tank or if they flush straight from fresh water supply.
Milton is ok for a mid sterilisation of system.
Better not letting it gunk up in first place really

What is the purpose of pink flush? The cynic in me says the manufacturers are simply conning people into buying something they don’t really need. Not an option on many motorhomes that flush from the main tank so it is hard to see it as vital.

That pink stuff has been bad news since it first came out over 25 years ago.
Must admit I've never seen a Motorhome with a separate flush tank I thought they were only in caravans.

I read a thread a couple of years ago about the pitfalls of the "pink stuff" in the toilet tank. So now I just mix some of it in a trigger spray bottle and use a little of that to help keep the bowl cleaner and smelling fresher. It helps counteract the "Perfume Le Fart" ;)

Here's the one from my old Swift, complete with the black gunk in the flush-level-viewing-gauge that Euro330 mentioned

I remember this from years back when I had a separate flush tank. The pink smells nice but the black mould often came out in clumps when flushing, better than staying there and blocking though.

We must have been lucky, we had a separate flush tank in our Autosleeper and also in our Swift and used the pink stuff in both. Never saw any black stuff, but we only put a small amount in.

I've always used Fenwicks Top and Tail in both tanks. No gunk in top tank and makes the bowl nice and non stick. Works for me.

Or you could use that miracle chemical H2O. I find it works a treat in the neat form.

Eh, the flush is sold as a concentrated additive to be watered down to keep the basin reasonably fresh.
What is doesnt highlight is that too strong a solution has a deteremental effect on the flushing system.
As it doesnt highlight this, not everyone knows the effect it has, as i didnt.
As i didnt i thought possibly some other people might not and might want to.
As they might not know it might prove beneficial for them to know.
To benefit from something you didnt know is generally a good thing.
Now does that clarify the issue I wish I had never mentioned, to those who not only dont know some vehicles (caravans/motorhomes/campervans/works crew cabs/buses and travelling fraternity waggons) may have a seperate flush tank fitted and it doesnt affect them, however some seem intent on making ridiculous comments highlighting their lack of being capable to think outside the box (a qube) (6 sided vessel of equal sized sides) and work out why they are fitted?
I suspect not, and with some intrepidation, a high degree of anticipation but very low degree of expectation will at some low point in my life look at the replies.
Once this information has absorbed possibly we could move onto a simpler subject such as BREXIT.
As Stephen Mulhern would say, UNBELIEVEABLE

Well I have a separate flush tank in this van and the previous one. I think it’s quite common. I got black bits in my last van from the pink and it was a devil to get rid of. I now use the pink in a 500ml spray bottle just because I like the smell and also, when wilding, and need to save on cassette space can do without the flush.
It’s good to give these tips, don’t give up !:)
