Has anyone fitted extra 12v sockets in a Pilote Sensation P740GJ.
The only socket of any use to charge items up is in the kitchen, the only other socket is above the fridge in a cupboard which is used to power the tv and that’s not really accessible due to all the plates and cups in the cupboard.

Got a P740C and am planning to fit 2 in the bedroom, coming out of the bottom of each wardrobe. Using a tap from the wardrobe light power, just got to check what fuse is fitted.
Where are you wanting to put the socket?

Morning Dave, do have the socket and separate 12v power supply mounted over the bed (loo side).

If it's not visible then pull off the cover and see if there are any wires in place. There are two wires that supply the 12v socket and 2 wires (red and black) for connection to the TV.

Here's some pics (y)

Thanks for that, there is a 240v and a blank. Can’t believe they would put the wires there and not fit a socket.
My setup looks different to yours, will investigate when I get it out of storage tomorrow. (y)

Andrew I was referring to the one you have just posted.
We don’t have the tv in the bedroom option, our setup looks different to yours, I will post a photo tomorrow.

Your panel will pull off easily so fingers crossed that you have wires. I may be wrong but I think we paid about £85 for the 2nd TV wiring system to be installed.

Any luck Dave. If not then I'll try and trace the wire trunking over the weekend. That said, I think it passes left to the fridge and then down behind the tech-tower and under the van to the L-shaped seat.

Hi Andrew, no luck. For some reason our bedroom cupboard is different to yours.

Checked out the Blank at the rear of the bedroom and no Joy there either, just speaker cable and what I think is power cable for the camera.
I’m thinking now I have two options, take a spur off the 12v above the fridge, or come straight off the leisure battery.

That's interesting Dave - I wasn't expecting such a difference in cupboard design for the wiring installation to be then added.

The 12v socket wires are fairly hefty while the extra TV wires are not so with a bit of luck I'll get them traced back to the block for you.

You learn something every day.

Hi Jands, so sorry I thought I had answered you.
I was thinking of the bedroom, but I am now thinking of the kitchen if I can find out how to remove the socket to get to the wires.
Just ordered two lights to fit in our wardrobe as the ones currently fitted don’t come on when you open the wardrobe door, they only come on when the top is lifted.

FYI, I fitted a cigarette lighter socket to the nearside bedside table just under the top surface on our 740c with the island bed. The wires came through the back into the rear locker and then through into the storage above the fresh water tank where I added to the existing wire suppllying the light in the rear locker. i fitted an extra 15amp fuse, and I have had no bother powering clocks as well as charging phones, tablets, kindles etc. The van had its first habitation, and no comment was made re changing/adding extra electrics.

Dave, sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I've checked the wiring system for the 12v socket which is located at the top locker position above the foot of the bed (not the one at the rear).

The wiring goes from the locker socket to the back of the tech-tower and then drops down to the floor (behind the draw) where the water pump is located. It then feeds into the main trunking sysyem which drops out of the bottom of the floor, behind the electric step, before being trunked under the van to just forward of the electric step. It then passes to the near-side of the van via the trunking and then upturns through the floor near the Truma and into the Elekroblock. I suspect it then feeds into Block-7 on the EBL271.

Here is a pic of my Block-7 feeds. Can you count the number of brown wires on your block when you get a chance as I suspect that you will only have 2 brown wires compared to mine with 3.

All the best,

Andrew

@Blue Knight Hi Andrew, I appreciate your help and have put a pic of my EBL which has the same number of feeds.

I have now had a rethink and if I can find out how the switches come off to enable me to get to the screws behind them I am going to fit a 12v socket in the kitchen.
I hope to fit the socket on the wall at 90 deg to the other one if you get my drift.
Would appreciate if anyone knows how to remove the old socket without breaking anything.
The last photo is the 12v socket I intend to install.

I can see that you've taken off the silver surround.

All you need to do now is take off the thin black plastic surrounds from each of the 3 socket mounts (they just pop off) and that will reveal 4 mounting screws for each socket.

Unscrew - job done

Thanks for that, I could see the screws but wasn’t sure how to get at them.
When I normally go to pop something off, I end up with it in bits. :)

When I first got into modifying cars 20-years ago I would strip a car and then reassemble it only to find that I always had enough spare parts left over to build a second car.

I'm getting better now though :D

LOL I wasn’t that bad, when you have had two Morris Marina’s you got used to knowing where every nut and bolt went. You name it, I replaced it.:D
