Has anyone got some pictures of older classic motorhomes? Would be nice to see if any members have pictures from the 70s/80s .
👍🏻. Looking more for motorhomes people actually owned than images from google 👍🏻

This was my first van bought in 1988. The photo was probably taken at Norden Farm, Corfe Castle.

Here's an interesting bit of information.

Some fantastic pictures and links here . Thank you guys so much . Hopefully get to hear all about some of these vehicles and the places visited at a rally ,sometime in the future 👍🏻

Our first proper M-home after having a 1700cc Transit with a solid lift up roof.. (No photo)..

This one was a 1966 Bedford CF.. Went all over the UK/Scotland in it, with 2 kids and a dog..

That looks like La Toretta. ;)

Swifter. I can't include a photo of our Old Hymer which was our first MH..........................as it's not old enough. ;)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

No Jock, thats Jack Stutvoet, an old Dutch mate. He came to visit us in Reil last summer, I had not seen him for about 15 years. You are right about La Toretta though, its on the top carpark, long before it was turned into part of the campsite. It was always reserved for the Dutch and believe me they were all party animals. The Dutch asked if I could go and park up there as I always had Cheddar cheese and home cured bacon

Thanks, it was a great old bus. Cummins 5.9 turbo intercooled diesel. Imported new into the UK and run entirely on biodiesel all the time I had it. It towed my Shetland Black Hawk boat up to Scandinavia and regularly went down to southern Spain. I sold it to an old boy that wanted to tow his vintage tractor to shows on a trailer, but for some reason its been on sorn for several years now.

This same van is being sold on eBay at the moment but I think the seller is a scammer and just using this photo ? There is a separate thread posted just now about an eBay scam and the seller appears to have lots of vehicles for sale .

He'll have a job selling it, it's got a full time resident.

Here is a real rarity. I bought this off a Dutch dealer who did not want it on his forecourt as it was too old. I gave 4000 Euros for it and travelled 10000 miles without spending a penny on it. A guy offered me £8000 for it and I sold it after owning it for 2 years. I regretted selling it as soon as it was gone.
It was built by a Dutch boatbuilder on a new cab and chassis so he and his wife could drive to France once each year, it was then put into a barn on return until next year. When he died the kids inherited it, but as it was quite old by this time, with no street cred traded it in for a new Hymer. A fantastic van with just about everything fitted by the builder and built too boat quality.
