I've been sent a Word document containing pictures.

Is there a way of saving the pictures as jpg files?

Right clicking doesn't allow it and 'save as' doesn't give me that option either.

i am sure some now better than i but you can copy and paste to a new file, then perhaps you have to be "drastic"! and print, then scan it back as a jpeg, depends how desperate you are...:Eeek:

Janine, I just tried to save a picture from a word document and it did allow me to copy and paste, or to save as...

What is happening when you right click on it?

Right click doesn't give a copy or save as option.

I think I have sussed it though.

Select picture.
Ctrl C
Open MS Paint
Ctrl V
Save as jpg

Just got to play about with the size now.

Thanks for your help

When using MS Word on a Mac, you can select an embedded picture, then right-click and choose 'save as picture'; you are then presented with a file-save window and the option to choose the image file type (png, jpg, bmp, pdf, gif). Does this not work with a Windows PC?

Apparently not

The only options available with a right click are 'Move here' and 'Copy here'. Not sure what that does but it certainly doesn't allow 'paste' anywhere that I can find

Check there isn't a message near the top of the screen saying it has opened the attachment in a safe mode. If it has just follow the prompts to let you save and edit the document normally.

Why not save the document and delete the text or must it be jpeg.

Aha! It had been written in an old version of Word and saved/re-opened in 'compatibility mode' on my lappy.

Saved it again in the up-to-date version and it works perfectly!

Thanks Mr Bee

Here's the picture, by the way

A ukulele orchestra! I liked your concert in the Albert Hall and this is perhaps appropriate given the picture: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLgJ7pk0X-s"]The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain - The Good, The Bad and The Ugly - YouTube[/ame]
