This morning’s walk from the site, the furthest and highest the dog’s been since his surgery and he did me proud. When we got back down from Cat Bells he got a swim in Derwentwater as a reward.

One of the classic Lakeland views. For many children it's their first proper little mountain. A nice easy scramble up to the summit.

Truly great photos them, you've really captured the farawayness(?) and beauty of the place ??

Well done that dog. We did it in winter a couple of years ago. a truly fine view when you get to the top..

Lovely walk.

The section alongside Derwentwater is actually part of "The Cumbria Way" one of the Long Distance Footpaths that we don't hear much about.

About 70 miles starts in Ulverston and finishes in Carlisle. I did it in about 1980 in 4 days staying at YHA's.

It is quite easy to section it off for days in the MH if you have a non-walker willing to drive.

It sounds good and I saw a few signs for that walk, but it’s beyond these old knees now. They managed the Lyke Wake walk many moons ago, but they’re better suited to short sharp winter blasts up Striding Edge or Sharp Edge, depending on which one holds the best snow and ice.

That used to be my favourite warmer walk when I arrived in Lakeland Ken.
It loosened me up nicely before I got stuck in to some more serious walking as the holidays progressed.
Your dog looks like he's loving it, glad to see he's looking so well.

Love Derwentwater and Keswick ☺️ Spent many happy holidays there when I was a kid.
Great memories ?
