Hi John
Thats what I want to do but every time I attach it's full size.

The only way I know how to attach is by copy and paste through photobucket and that does'nt work for that type.

Can you spell it out step by step idiot fashion ( I'm fluent in it ) :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

How to...

Rory (and others)

To acheive the desired effect make sure that the picture is on your PC (not on the internet).

Then...

When creating a post, click on 'Manage Attachments' in the Additional Options below the edit box (SEE PIC 1)

Using the section highlighted, browse to the file on your PC paying attention to the file size limits detailed in the table below the input field (SEE PIC 2)

Once identified, click the upload button (SEE PIC 3)

Click close this window and continue posting your message (SEE PIC 4)

Hope this helps, please reply if you need clarification

Should not be the case, Geo...

Filesize limits what can be uploaded - if it can be uploaded all should work.

Files that have an extension of .jpg can be nearly 100k IIRC

Hi,

You can, and of course are free to, use the paperclip to attach attachments.

However, to have an attached picture 'zooooom' out to a larger size and 'zooooom' back in to a thumbnail you need to use the alternative method.

It's all to do with the difference between attachments and in-line attachments...:Eeek:

Hi Bryan
So if I use the manage attachments button instead of the paperclip does this mean I don't have to reduce the size of photo as its done automatically?

Sorry to be so dim but I'm a real techniphobe

No, the picture will not be automatically rezised to meet the system constraints. The thumbnail is autosized.

The main difference between the paperclip and 'manage attachments' is for the whizz-bangy zoomy-zoom effect.

Thats the problem most of my 600/700 pics are on Windows Photo Gallery and I struggle to reduce the size so most won't upload as their to big.
I've started a Photobucket account as resizing is easy on there but the bloody transfers fom Windows to Photobucket take forever.

ah, but you see....

If you link to a pic on photobucket, you don't need to resize it when you link to it from a post...Our software does that on the fly...

(Who said it was easy...):ROFLMAO:

Can I set Photobucket as my default when downloading from the camera as I have Windows Vista it automatically chooses Windows Photo Gallery.

That way once I've downloaded my current archive to Photobucket I won't have to bother agan.

Agh
This is all to hard for a retired person I'm going back to work it was easier
