Don't know if many people use road atlases these days but we think these are the clearest to read and just found them on offer at Yorkshire Trading Co in Penrith £9.99 to £1.99

That's the map book we use - but we paid a bit more than that. We use sat nav, but use the road atlas spot narrow and/or very twisty roads etc then set up the sat nav accordingly. Plus the road atlas never breaks down !

I always use maps, and my missus is an excellent map reader. I think the Phillips map is as good as it gets, and I shall be buying one. GPS is only an aid.

Blast, was in Penrith this time last week, but think they have a Yorkshire trading Co in Driffield.
