Picking up a new to us motorhome, comfort insurance said they wouldn't insure us without a tracker so have had a sentinel alarm and tracker fitted.
We pick the motorhome on February 1st we have the insurance certificate and paperwork and have downloaded the app.
Today we had a call from phantom to say our motorhome is on the move apparently its gone for a service so phantom have put a note on file that they won't track it until February 1st.
Could anyone tell me how the tracker works when we drive the motorhome do we have to deactivate the tracker each time so we don't get another phone call its a s7 tracker thanks for anyone who can help.

Our tracker isn't phantom, but when you get your mh you will also get access to an app that will allow you to set various things like geofences and often a special setting for when a garage has to work on it. I accidentally set mine off by pulling a fuse.

We have recently had a Phantom tracker/alarm fitted.
Our motorhome is also still at the dealers and we hope to collect it next week.
The dealer has moved it a few times (including today) and I have received a notification via the app each time, but no phone call from Phantom.
As far as I am aware, they should only contact you if the alarm is set off.
In the app you can put it into service mode, and enable/disable notifications etc.

Hi
We have never been contacted but we are with Global Telemertrics and I've justed cut and pasted a piece from their website. We also have an app for the phone where we can see where the vehicle is and strength of cab battery.
Didn't choose this company as it was already fitted to van we just updated subscription.

Global Telemetrics specialise in monitoring stolen vehicle tracking devices. The Secure Control Centre is managed by fully trained Security Liaison Officers (SLO), 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The team monitors vehicles for illegal movements (vehicle moving without the ignition turned on). The SLO will call the customer to confirm the vehicle is safe. They also monitor vehicle battery levels and will contact the customer if the battery is running low or has been fully disconnected.

  • Global Telemetrics' fully trained SLOs have the experience of working in many areas and also include former police officers, with many years of experience.
  • BS7858 – all security staff are screened to the highest British standard

We have this system. There is no need to switch it off. If you set off the alarm you will get a text message and you reply with your 4 digit code.
If the MH is in garage etc you set set it up for "service " mode in the app. Go to actions and it's there

When you get your van you will have a little dongle thing that needs to be on your person but ideally not with your keys before it will even start, you start and drive as normal and you should not get any alerts, you will also have an alarm fob and set the app up with a pin code relative to your vehicle so you can arm and disarm remotely, if this has not been done already, if the vehicle moves without you/somebody disarming the alarm you will get an alert from the tracker.

Don't worry it dead easy once you have the van.

We have the S7 tracker fitted.thanks for all the replies very helpful we haven't been given a four digit code.

We. Have the Global Telemetrics we have two credit card sized tags, these are rechargeable with a little button you turn on if you are with the van or off if not. If the moves without the card on we get a phone call right away.

I have been on phantoms website and they show options for trackers.
but no mention on anything apart from the three uses and prices.
is this a monthly contract after the installation .
wgat are the total cost after installation.

Do you have an S5 tracker fitted?
I don't think the basic S7 has this facility.
Yes sorry, likewise Jim+Ann ours is the S5 tracker the dongle I described is ADR and not included with S7, Jim+Ann have you got "shield" turned on in the app (top left of screen) this sends an alert every time the motorhome is moved.

No. You don't need to deactivate anything. Just get in and drive. When you get to your destination the app will tell you where you are!

This is how it read when downloaded not touched it. Don't no if this is right.

My tracker from Vanbitz has a fob but it must be on the key ring, not hanging up by the Hab door….. as a few phone calls from Meta systems whenever I move have testified. Usually got to the storage security gate before they called. Pretty good system

Maybe they have different systems or I’m missing the tags?
When we bought the van the tracker was already attached. I contacted Global paid the subscription and they sent me an email to confirm that it had been re commissioned and details to set up the app.
So the app is all I have.

Our van had a Phantom tracker fitted when we got it. It went wrong a few years later so we had a new one fitted that works with their app (works on phone and on PC).
We have a hidden switch (on the van when we got it) which alerts us to a possible theft when switched on and needs to be switched off when we use it ourselves to prevent alerts.
There is also a toggle setting in the app which alerts us when the van is moved but not a full "possible theft" alert.
If you have any problems, contact Phantom through the app or by phone. They have always been helpful to us when we have needed to over the last 10 years.

I have had problems with Global Telemetrics. When I had the Airbag module problem I left the battery disconnected and no call. When I phoned them ( a premium rate call) they said I needed to update the App, which I did but no change. Another call and they did something their end and it appeared OK. Later when I disconnected the battery to remove the Airbag module for repair I never got a call. Another call to them and they said the tracker had accidentally been switched off!! I certainly won't be having them again on our new van, currently looking at the Phantom.
