Peugeot key

Hi Everyone, new here so apologies if the question has been asked before. I have a Compass based on a Peugeot Boxer van and somehow managed to loose the chip when changing the battery on one of the flip keys. Peugeot want £200 for a new one but I was wondering if it would be possible to get a second hand key, swap the blade over, and get it programmed to the van? The guy at Peugeot was less than helpful when I asked him... Based in Southampton, so somewhere local would be ideal. Thanks!

Hi & welcome.I'd try one of the independent key cutters who can usually fit chip & reprogramme.

Not 100% but I think once programmed the chip is programmed for life

Probably at useless answer (I'm good at those): When I went into a Timpsons and asked for an un-chipped key for a VW Up!, the guy there thought I was taking the pi ... er ... mickey. So they do them, how much, I don't know.

It may be worth taking the spare to Timpson - they can program new chipped keys too
