Brand new 120 Accordo Peugeot based Motor home, it's now seven months old 2,800 miles on the clock, one afternoon the engine refused to turn over dashboard lights went crazy, so I called out roadside assistance who traced the problem to a solenoid which is situated on top of the engine battery, this solenoid is attached to the battery negative post then to chassis, via cable. I sharn;t bore you with the manufactures response only to say the engine will happily run provided the solenoid remains bypassed. Has anybody else experienced this solenoid related problem

I have a Boxer can you post a picture please?

Also interested as we have have a Peugeot based Elddis.

What did the manufacturer say the Function of this relay/solenoid was?. I have a "Suspicion" (only) that it may in some way be connected with with disconnection of the battery in an accident situation?.

That’s correct, problem is that its not a Peugeot part and wasn’t, at first identified on any Peugeot wiring diagrams, however, things have changed a wee bit and replacement unit will be ordered hopefully that may rectifier the problem. Hopefully, I will post some pictures soon. DW
