Driving into Lincoln & having to stop to get past a parked tractor when put van into 2nd gear almost no power at all. Dropped back down into 1st back up into 2nd & it picked up as it should. Changed into 3rd same drop in pulling power, dropped down then back up again all ok but then same things happened intermittently til we arrived at site. Doesn’t sound like clutch slipping but I’m not mechanical so just wondering what if anything it’s likely to be eg. Summat serious about to happen with gearbox that should be looked at now or risk continuing tour - hoping to be back in Dundee by next Tuesday - and taking to be checked when back home, assuming nowt catastrophic has happened by then!

Ours is a 2ltr add blue model 2017 , sometimes at a roundabout if you try to take of from like 5mph in 2nd it can be as dead as a dodo , but alway 2nd to 3rd is fine , plenty of power.

Ours is 2008 bought 5 years ago & never experienced this before today & far enough away from home & not mechanically enough minded to be concerned… cheers 😀

Sounds like your EGR valve might be getting blocked up.
Garage will sort it without too much drama.

Our previous motorhome had the 2.0 ltr engine.
It was a great engine which was very quiet and economical, but suffered badly from turbo lag.
Pulling away in second gear at a slow speed was dangerous and almost got me into trouble a few times.
However, it was easy to avoid and it does sound like the OP has some other problem.

Hopefully maybe just fuel filter or leaky air pipe. Got a garage nearby looking at tomorrow & hopefully diagnosis/fix relatively straight forward. Can’t really complain in as much as mechanically in 5 years we’ve had the van it’s owe us nothing more than normal maintenance 👨‍🔧 n the mechanical front. Famous last words!!
