If I'm doing anything with batteries, as I remove each of the cables I immediately tape it well out of the way with gaffer tape, no risk then of it moving or getting knocked onto the battery terminals etc.
Good advice , I’m a bit wary of the lecky stuff...

Because of your great advice managed to get the battery out today like I knew what I was doing👍👍👍, looks like the battery is the very original one from Sevel. Do I need a straight replacement, same ah etc or is there a better option?

I really can't see that, it's compromising the battery case for one thing and it's not needed for another.
Think of the result if someone lost them and decided they only had 2 or 3 inch screws....
The battery clamp should keep everything in place

The screws are threaded into the terminal cover holes in the battery case. Their purpose is to position the fuse plate in correct alignment before tightening the terminal post clamp.

The red plastic "tie" piece between them deforms to warn you if you have overtightened the screws.

The terminal post clamp secures the fuse plate to the battery. The screws are just to position it correctly in relation to the battery orientation. They don't need to be tight to as once the terminal clamp is secure they are not holding anything down, and if you overtighten them you could damage the battery casing.

Can I please ask what the two red and one brown things are on the positive end. I have connected my Battery Master to the outboard end of one of them.
Thanks

Ah. Had a suspicion. So, I am ok to feed the battery from a Battery Master via one? Do you know their values please?
Iirc the brown is 70a and the red ones are 50a.

I believe the instructions for the battery master says it‘s battery connections don’t need to be fused....so it shouldn’t matter that they’re massive fuses.

Thanks. Massive help.

I have the BM at both batteries with 3a fuses, but Vanbitz suggest 10a due to initial surge current. Will upgrade the fuses tomorrow.
