Peugeot Boxer 1998 petrol 5 speed Gearbox rebuild

Well it was getting very crunchy and draggy , particularly 1st - 2nd , 3rd - 2nd and sometimes back into 1st.
Checked all the relevant fora , owners clubs etc and realised that it would be a difficult job.

We live in Surrey , called local specialists , then London and spoke to about twelve different rebuilders countrywide.
Rocking horse poo , Lord Lucan on Shergar etc , getting desperate but found Gloucester Road Gearboxes of Bristol : http://www.grgb.org.uk/?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=Infoserve

Gave them a call , Gent said we do these for several dealers , knew about the synchro problems and said “ we have all the bits in stock “ , and will do a rebuild.
Dropped the Peugeot Autosleeper off on the friday 31/03/2017 , went through problems and off home. Phone call monday , full rebuild all internals , bearings synchro's etc and given a price.

Called me tuesday , all done and tested , collected wednesday 05/04/2017 .

Hitched up trailer and headed for M32 , M4 and home to Surrey. Gearbox proved faultless all the way home.
So great job , slightly cheaper than quoted price.

Treated to a look around their premises , nice workshops , clean and tidy , well equipped.
None of you guys know me , I assure you all I have no connection whatsoever to Guildford Road Gearboxes. Just a happy customer.

Thanks so much to them for a good and quickly expedited job , and thanks to you all for your patience in reading this.

Follow up 8/5/2017

Drove van for first time since returning from rebuild.
Trip down to Weymouth via M3 , as the M27 to A31 was closed we followed the diversion and got to our destination.

Trip back was similarly disrupted as M3 was closed , so a diversion around the houses , once again returned home , the rebuilt gearbox was faultless.
Thanks Gloucester Road Gearboxes , could not be happier with the job and even happier to give this positive report.

They have a very good reputation locally.
They've done two Vivaro gearboxes for me in the past (known weakness) the vans have done over 100k between them since repair and work faultlessly.
Not cheap but I think you get what you pay for...
They did offer cheap, probably temporary fixes as an alternative, which I thought was pretty decent of them, as not all garages are so straight up with you.
I'd use again for sure (y)
