Try some silicone spray on the mechanism.

What good is it?
Good point, dont know if delivery drivers actually use them but I’ve stuck a shiny round disc thingy on mine which holds my sat nav on it , works a treat also….
If you buy sandwiches in those triangular boxes, you can open the lid and clip it in the clip. Handy sandwich holder.
Obviously I dont eat while driving , 😁🫢

I removed the cover completely, it revealed a very useful bit of extra storage, especially for the satnav holder.

Just yank it up from the top and open the jaws with the tab on the LHS. Close the tab before slamming it shut / down.
I use it to hold an old tablet which only has apps for motorhoming: Google maps / My Maps, S4S, P4N, OS Maps etc. Connected via usb while driving, tethered to the mobile phone so it keeps the routes updated. Also use Google Keep (Synced to SWMBOs tablet) to keep checklists for arrival, departure, next trip needs, site directions, etc. Oh and of course a Home screen button for MHF!
