worth checking with a maindealer...very expensive repair if it snaps..running into many, many hundreds of £s

i changed mine on a ducato 2.8 at 3?000 but mine should be changed at 4 years if it hasnt reached the recommended mileage. others are a lot longer interval.

they do deteriorate with age not just miles.

mine was £80 for the belt and two idler pulley/bearings

fitted it myself.

I have a Ducato 1.9 TD and the handbook says change the belt every 100,000 km ( 60,000 miles ). I imagine the Peugeot and Fiat engines are very similar.

Fact--- in 7 out of 10 cambelt failures the customer said, I was only talking about having it done the week before:Doh:
now repeat the question to yourself again:thumb:

Just had our 2003 Fiat 1.9JTD done at 14K miles and 5 years.

The tensioner pulley had leaked it grease and would have collapsed real soon. The belt looked like new :-(

Price from good local garage was very reasonable, about £150 from memory.
