Drontal tablets 1 per each 10kg weight = 3€ at our vets. Spanish dogs legally have to have them every 3 months & the dogs Vet book has to be filled in & signed each time. You can if you want supply your own tablets here ,give them to the dog & tell vet when you are in & they will sign & stamp book. When doing the tablets for UK trips my vet doesn't charge .Never even charged my nephew last year.

Off topic but just came to mind. In Spain it is a requirement that when a dog is out in public/being walked , that you are carrying all their documents. Our dog, formerly dogs, have vet books along with regional plastic type cards . detailing all info/owner address etc. we are meant to carry everything. It would probably apply to tourists with pets as well.

We went to the vets near Parc Verger and were very impressed with them. Four dogs wormed, examined and passports signed for €52. They use Milbamax by choice which was good as both Rory and Maeve have now developed a severe intolerance to Drontil - the vomiting in the Exorcist is nothing compared to them after a dose of Drontil!

Plenty of parking outside and staff all speak English. We called a few days in advance and made an appointment. It meant we didn't have to look for a vets nearer the tunnel and with the 5 day time window had plenty of time to get to Calais.

The missus wants to know if anyone has encountered the same problem as us.
Our dog cannot tolerate prazinquantel which is the drug included in drontal and milbemax to fight the dreaded french tapeworm. That is the drug that defra says must be in the wormer administrated before return to the UK.
Our dog literally throws up the minute he swallows these tablets. Even when they are fully ground up and hidden in treats. Like a scene from the exorcist.
He wouldnt make it out of the vets waiting room and therefore no stamped passport.
We were wondering about the injection but concerned about whether he would have a terrible reaction to that too. We dont want to cause him harm.
Has anyone had the same problem but found the injection caused no ill effects?
At the moment we are having to contemplate changing our grand plan for a big tour of northern europe and scandinavia as dont want to leave him more than 2 weeks with dog sitters.
We are preseuming he is allergic in some way to orazinquantel or that his stomach is just too weak to tolerate it. (He had parvo virus when he came out the irish pound).
