No good news I'm afraid. France is now nearly paralysed . Here is the map of stations running out of petrol.

http://www.20minutes.fr/societe/1850167-20160523-penurie-carburants-station-essence-sec

You can try to google "stations essence ouvertes?"

Now all the Raffineries are blocked. This morning police and army forces managed to free one of them, but it's going to quickly be empty.

Try small villages , lost places , you might be lucky!
As I said before, if you're in my area and are running out of petrol/diesel, you'll have somewhere to park here. I must just add that I won't be free to do any socialising. But at least you'll be on a free pitch , able to wait for better times. That's all I can offer unfortunately !

Hope no one will be in trouble far away from home!

crikey!!

and yet the french prime minister says they have the situation fully under control......doesn't look like it!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-36353099

Hundreds of French petrol stations have closed after union protests blocked oil refineries.

About one in 20 petrol stations ran out of fuel entirely and hundreds more faced some shortages, the government said.

Workers blockaded French oil refineries and depots on Sunday in protest over controversial labour reforms.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls said France had sufficient reserves to cope with the blockades.

"We have the situation fully under control. I think that some of the refineries and depots that were blocked are unblocked or will be in the coming hours and days," he said.

Of the 12,000 petrol stations in France, 820 were completely out of fuel on Sunday and another 800 lacked at least one type of fuel, transport minister Alain Vidalies said.

Protesters blocked deliveries from at least half of France's eight refineries in reaction to new labour laws that make it easier for employers to hire and fire staff.

It won't just be fuel. If the trucks can't deliver to supermarkets the shelves will empty.

I'm unaffected - so far - near Bordeaux at the moment, but I'm within a half tank of fuel from the Spanish border, so a change of touring location may be in order and a different ferry route home! Bilbao here we come!

Cycled into La Baule this morning and there were queues at 2 fuel stations that were closed, presumably in the expectation of a delivery.Fuel was available at Carrefour but rationed to 20L, I drove back around lunchtime queued for about half an hour and got my 20L, I have enough now for shopping and short excursions and still have enough to reach Roscoff in July, happy now:)

France has enough strategic reserves to last up to 2 months even if all refineries and ports are blockaded by the Unions. About half that reserve is diesel. Only about 8% is petrol. All would take is a decision to let the reserves be supplied to petrol stations but the French Government seems reluctant.

By the way - what strategic fuel reserves does the UK have? Hmmmm?

Just spoke to our French friends,we are going to visit them on Friday(crossing Friday morning)They are in Soissons and say that all the petrol stations there have closed.A lot of friends are going across the border into Belgium to stock up.We are hoping to fill up before we get the tunnel and at least we know we have enough to get to Soissons! Will worry about getting back later. We were going across to Brittany for a few weeks but may change and go to Belgium or Germany instead.Hav'nt been to Mosel area for years!!

It's not all bad. We called in at a supermarket garage this afternoon near Jard (Vendee region) and were limited to 119 Euro worth (yes - one hundred & nineteen) - enough to get me most of the way to the tunnel. That said, the garage on the opposite side of the road was limiting customers to 20 Euro.

I cannot really see the point of limits. Yes, for locals who don't go anywhere much but anyone working/travelling then a limit of 20-25€ just means fill it up drive to next & join queue, fill it up drive to next, ad -infinitum. Ridiculous really.
