What a great meet, the sun has shone the whole weekend, our stand had a steady stream of volunteers to spread the Fun and hand out flyers, we had loads of interest and our member numbers will be greater because of the effort put in by funsters keen to tell others about our great community.

Our Rally field setup was the envy of many, thanks to Bryan and Suzy. Thousands of campers walking past our field were left in no doubt that they were passing Motorhomefun.:Rofl1:

A big thanks to all, who helped us set-up, run the show and then help us pack up. All this volunteered help would certainly be the envy of other forums. THANKS:thumb::thumb:

Presently I am still on the field with about 12 funsters keen to continue the party. However. I've got to go now, because I am getting stick for being unsociable tapping away on the laptop. Thanks everyone, a fantastic weekend:BigGrin::Laughing::BigGrin:

Thanks to all who organised this meet, thank God for the weather!!!!!!!
It was great meeting everyboy we have had a terrific weekend.

In the American RV Magazine forum a heated debate has been going on for some time in which several members have announced that at the Peterborough RV / Motor Home Show an announcement, not sure if it will be from he DVLA or the RVDA will be made to solve the problem regarding the import and size issue.

I have been monitoring most of the motor home and caravanning forums that I'm a member for any snippets of such an announcement but its as quiet as a grave yard.

Did any member on here attend and hear any announcement, in fact was any other member of this forum who are NOT ARVM forum members aware of any forth coming announcements?

Thanks to all who organised this meet, thank God for the weather!!!!!!!

Can only support what others have said, Fantastic weather, weekend and show. Sorry that I didn't socialise but those I did meet, thanks for a great weekend.
Sorry if the the kids got a bit loud, :Rofl1:
But it was thier way of enjoying them selves.

Any way not as noisey as the group tent :Rofl1:

Only joking, will have to join you next time.

Don

Thanks to all concerned. Great effort get more Funsters, and nice to meet some of you. :thumb::clap::clap:
WEATHER !!! :rain: We arrived on Thursday afternoon, after the rain, hail etc, to be greeted by marshalls of the area I was on, who directed me onto an area where 2 tractors were towing vans ONTO their pitches. :Eek!: Apart from the weather, a mains water pipe had burst under ground turning the whole area into a swamp. I drove onto my pitch, to find that I was stuck, and couldnt use the side door due to a large muddy puddle being directly under. After pointing this out to the marshall, I found I was bogged down as I expected, so I resorted to asking the tractor driver to tow me out of the area. I then joined the back of the queue to be allocated another pitch. When I got to the front of the queue I got out to find a firmer area, to be ordered to get off the road, repeatidly. :boxing::boxing: I did, and found a better pitch nearby, then sat and watched vans being towed around. I know the Marshalls have a hard job:thanks:, but that situation was stupid , but they never put any more on the immediate area where we had been. Oh, and I got sunburned on Saturday. Serves me right :BigGrin:

Well that'll teach you to not book with MotorhomeFun then :Rofl1:

The main problems we seemed to have was the Warners Marshalls directing some of our campers to the General camping area or the ARVE area instead of our rally field

Still, they made it in the end :thumb:

We did have one or two who slipped a little getting ON to the field but that was down to a little localised issue and once on the field they had no problems getting to pitches.

And as far as I know, no-one had an issue when leaving, so you know what to do next year!

Hiya,

Thanks too Sian for the warm welcome :thumb:
Sorry we didn't mingle much  (had a bit of an up & down weekend)
Nice to see those we met at Newark & put a few more faces to names.

Well done Jim, Bryan & all who helped organize a great weekend

When I booked for the Peterborough Show, I hadnt found the funsters, and had the choice of claiming the £2 discount on either the CC:Smile:, C&CC:Smile:, or the MCC:Sad:. I chose the latter, but wont need to worry in future, because my sub is due at the end of the month, and I shall be hanging on to it:Smile:.
Cuddles and I walked around the showground in the evenings, but never did find the Funsters camping area. Next time eh. (To tell the truth, we were exhausted, and just wanted to sit down in the end.)

Just got in from work

Bit of a downer after another great weekend with the Funsters
Thanks to Jim and Bryan for another well organised meet
Had a few mishaps like getting stuck driving onto the field and being pulled out with the tractor and breaking 2 keys in my locker locks
but that aside we had a brilliant time :thumb:
Looking foward now to Newbury

Arrived at Blakemore CC site near Worcester after a long drive cross country!!

Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - thanks to Jim and Bryan (and Suzy and Sian of course!!) for organising the weekend. Lovely seeing everybody - wish we could do it more often but the sun beckons!! We'll do it as often as we can though! Can't make Newbury as we'll be in Cornwall but hope to catch up with you all soon.

Jim - we managed to get the awning up but can't attach it to the van! - where were you when we needed you????

By the way, Jim, that was a nice little traffic jam you created all the way to the A14!!! We were in the middle of it!

See you all soon

Marie and Rex

Dear all.

June & I had a wonderful weekend and were delighted to meet some of the FUNsters again, and to meet new faces.

Congratulations yet again to Jim, Sian, Bryan & Suzy for organising another wonderful event. I don't thonk many of us appreciate all the hard work you put in before the event, let alone on all the show days with Jim manning our stand all day, even on his wedding anniversary! Congratulations too to "hopalong Tony" in his role of deputy marshall. Obviously he couldn't run fast enough when Bryan was looking for volunteers...

I'm not sure if we'll see people again before we depart for Europe in May, but if we do, it will be because Newbury is on the way to Dover from Somerset whereas Bude isn't. Negotiations have opened in the Smurf household...

Safe Journey wherever you go. :thumb:

...I don't thonk many of us appreciate .....

Allo, Allo is not a good source when it comes to learning French Papa:Rofl1:

Good to meet you and June and to put faces to some other familiar user names:Wink:

Thanks again to John (the one and only Road Runner:thumb:) for making it possible

Hi all

Just to say thanks to Jim, Sian, Bryan and Suzy for a fab weekend. It's so good to laugh isn't it. It was great meeting up with people we had not seen for a while.

We decided that seeing as the weather was still nice and sunny we would dump the tanks when we got home. Well we managed to keep the good weather with us until we hit Mansfield that is. The heavens opened up that much we were trapped in the RV for about 10 minutes. Anyway the rain calmed so we got all the macerator gear out, I was ok at the smelly end because I was in the garage loo, but just as Geo pulled the first lever the heavens opened up again with thunder, lightening as well. You can just imagine what he was saying can't you. Made me blush:Blush::Rofl1::Rofl1:

Still it was all worth it. See you all again soon.

Just home, last off site as usual, so didn't get a chance to say 'thanks for organizing & marshalling' to Bryan & Jim.

Nice location for site, just as well I didn't book with XXX this year, as I had to carry 2 x 110ah batteries from the nearest stall (last 'borrower' of stallholders sackbarrow hadn't returned it:Angry:)

Has anyone found....

Hi all, we had an absolute brilliant meet at Peterborough, can't thank all the organisers too much. As we arrived home it was discovered that somewhere between Peterborough and Preston we lost a brand new cable, and a leveller - oops -someone forgot to lock the side locker  Never mind we will have to go to Newbury for replacements. See you all soon.

Jim and Marion
