So much for the “Fantastic deal” falsely promised by the wonderful blonde leader!!!!!

Can I ask where you obtained this? I thought nothing had been agreed yet

I think you are both sort of right the existing schemes will end then whether we then need the green card etc depends on whether Boris sorts out a deal and the nature of it I suspect you both have slightly different opinions of the likely results if any!

They cant say they were not told, over and over again.
Its what they wanted
Its what they voted for
Here we go again,,they are hoping and preying uk will fail..It is not even day one yet of us leaving..Not wishing my life away but i am confident that by Feb 1 st 2021 besides being an independent country we will have signed an advantages trade deal with the EU and many other countries..The only way is up..BUSBY.

Free roaming will be down to market forces. Can the mobile networks really put that genie back into the bottle without falling foul of anti-cartel laws in the UK? If one network (perhaps 3) promises that it will maintain free roaming the others will have to grit their teeth and carry on as well. It is price-sensitive for consumers, and very competitive nowadays.

Green cards is hardly a big problem. I remember when they were compulsory. Just another piece of paper.

I have never needed to use the EHIC card although I still have one. The likelihood is that there will be a replacement under new bilateral agreements between the UK and other European countries whose nationals use the NHS while they are in the UK.

I have an IDP which is easy and cheap to get.

Pet Passports is primarily about allowing your dog/ cat/ ferret etc back into the UK without quarantine. I don't need this so perhaps someone who does can explain this in more detail if it is going to change or be abolished.

Life's far to short. What will be decided by our parliamentary circus and the EU dictators we'll obey. Who really gives a jot.

Can we keep the politics out of these discussions.

Her'e a tip, type it up with all your anger at those stupid leavers, snowflake remainers. tell them exactly what you think and then delete it, we're not interested. Thanks

Can you show us where the details of the pet passport 2021 have been confirmed? Thanks
The government website says details will depend on whether we are a listed country for entry to the EU but pets will be able to return on an old pet passport provided the existing procedure is followed. There will only be a problem if the new arrangements are not known by August as after that it will be too late to arrange things if we are not listed to travel at the start of 2021.

My mobile provider 'EE' have stated that they have no plans to alter their roaming charges after B****t.

Think the confusion is caused by the official .Gov page (that I gather was updated in the last few days:

This is the bit about pets:

A lot of what's written on this page is all may/if/maybe/etc, but the above wording seems definitive.

Bet it isn't though. Doubt the government have any more idea than the rest of us at the moment.

The UK will be able to apply to be listed.

Would be crazy that a pet leaving a rabies free island would have to prove it doesn't have rabies to enter a continent that does!
The UK would still allow re-entry with no change if current conditions are met (I believe)
Hopefully, common sense will prevail

I’m a dyed-in-the-wool tree-hugging liberal leftie snowflake remoaner, and even I would bet my house on the UK applying for and obtaining part 1 listed status.

Govt quoted in the Independent news web 3 hrs ago. Only effective at end of transition period.
Or is this more Fake News as DT would say

It's the other way around I think. Its an animal entering the UK from countries that have rabies that is the worry..It was never a problem taking a pet into Europe, it was re entering the UK that was the problem.BUSBY.

...
3 was giving free roaming in 2011 well before any other scheme was introduced.

Yes it was originally the need to quarantine animals. Now and in the future? nothing will change to bring an animal into the UK if current UK requirements are met, however if we become unlisted we MAY have to prove with a blood test our animals are rabies free to leave the UK and to enter Europe !!!!! (I believe)
Just the opposite common sense would expect ?

No, I've read that john, it's all ifs. So it's not confirmed at all

If the UK becomes an unlisted country

If the UK becomes a listed third country
They are IF's because we can't be all three options.
Without doubt We WILL BECOME one of the three options... Unlisted.... Part 1 or Part 2.... All non EU countries are.

Whichever group it is to be the rules ARE changing and they indicate the differences in pet passport.
I don't see any ifs the info given, only what each grouping requires in 2021

Dear Doris, I think that ...........

:giggle:

Due to family circumstances we are not able to travel far at the moment so I'm not going to worry about any of this for now
By the end of the year we will all know, and for this year nothing changes

Simple answer to the Pet Passport issue is get your dog titre tested now. This was a requirement when the scheme first started. A number of dogs have failed the test. Knowing that, I would have my dog tested anyway. Do shop around as some vets are over charging. There are only 2 labs in the UK that can do the test so getting it done before the rush at the end of the year would be sensible.

I've been touring Ireland since October, because of the overall C**k up by the politicians, I got a green card free from Ins Co,
and went down the blood test for the dog. It cost but was easy.
NB Euro exchange rate today is 1.19
