Ok we have a Springer one year old never had a pet passport before.
First thing is can you get one Frome the vet now or is it DEFRA or sumthing like that
Hopfuly sumone can give me a answer

It's no longer a pet passport but an animal health certificate. Your vet will happily sort that out and empty your wallet at the same time. Also if you are planning to go abroad soon you'll need to get your dog their rabies jags sharpish because you won't be able to go without it.
 
As said above sort rabies jab first, just remember that an AHC can only be issued upto 10 days prior to departure and last for 4 months.
It can only be used for 1 trip within that period.

I believe the current tactic is to get a AHC to get you and the fluffer into Europe. Then once you're out there, find one of the vets that'll issue you a European pet passport. The sticking point is you are supposed to have an address out there, but some vets are allowing people to use their address. You can then use that from then on to cross back and forth without worrying about AHCs.
