Can anyone offer some explainers please ?
Why is a toad called a toad? and a duck?
And what is a pup tent and why? Is there any other (clean) language I should know ?
Your interpretations might create more confusion but then again your contributions may be entertaining..

As above a towed car (on an a-frame not a trailer) is Toad.
A pup tent is a small tent sometimes used for additional sleeping accomodation, usually for kids.
An Elsan is where you empty your toilet cassette even when it is labelled Thetford.
EHU is electric hook up.
There are loads I'm sure, but never be afraid to ask, but expect a few witty responses amongst the sensible ones. 😀

MHF is Motor Home Fun ;) ;)

When I first joined MHF I came across the term PVC and couldn't understand what it meant. I came across another thread concerning a topic in which someone wrote out PVC (panel van conversion).
I learn something every day, particularly on this forum😁

Ahh, so a cassette is not for playing bathroom music ?!

So a caravan although towed is also a toad or not?
Nope, it's a shed on wheels!
And a French towed car is a frog ?
Really depends on how old it is.
Brand new it's spawn.
Older than a year it's a tadpole.
After that it's a frog until it loses it's legs then it's food.
Quite logical this terminology when you think about it.(y)

Nobody mentioned FLT = free loading tosser

An affectionate term for those of us who don't like campsites and prefer to find a free spot out of the way somewhere.

There’s things talked about on the forum that are not in my Yorkshire book of words. It’s easier to ask what people mean via the forum without feeling embarrassed.
We havnt been funsters for meany years but we getting the hand of the lingo slowly.
