Ahh, I missed the Jill element.

Worth £500 of any Jill’s money.

After I've factored in the £36 cost of changing my name by deed poll to J111 AWD to make it truly personalised it's all a bit expensive. Besides, the prospective Mrs AWD has declined as she doesnt want to become a Jill.

The old ones are, well, just old. Don’t give up your day job.

Why the critical stuff folks? Can I pile in if any of you ever want to sell anything? Seems a bit off to make fun of someone's advert. There is Fun and then there is the not nice sort of fun.

in fairness DBK I am glad someone asked? I did think that the advertiser was pushing the boat out looking for someone called Andrew William Davies or alike, Until it was pointed out that by some stretch it would be seen as Jill i had no idea. Just glad bigtwin asked the question.

Good luck with the sale OP. sure Jill will be along at some point.

For the Record, my enquiry was genuine and was not intended to be clever, funny or sarcastic and I agree that a number of the posts are unnecessary.

Cherished plates for sale threads are a bit like generator threads in that the detractors cannot but help themselves.

Thanks DBK for your post I was wondering why posters think it's clever to make unnecessary comments :wondering:
Must be bored I guess.
Agree.
I am sure many members must feel p’d off when they read some comments that are made by some here on adverts

Not sure why a bit of harmless fun should cause such consternation? Nothing is directed against the seller in any way and at least the comments keep bumping the for sale thread to the top of the page.

Thanks for the comments. I appreciate them as it bumps up my ad.

Perhaps I should have typed JIII and not used a character with a serif, J111, as most numberplate typefaces are san serif.

Hijacking of classified ads happens far too often on here I’m afraid.

It seems many members can’t resist commenting on and/or discussing items they clearly have no interest in.

Good luck with the sale.

The challenge that the OP has is that the DVLA has 500x J111 number plates for sale ON IT’S WEBSITE
for £250 inc transfer fee

not an opinion....a FACT
BUT TO BE FAIR, J111AWD is NOT available from them ?

Hi Cheshirecat57,
Your last line makes the salient point.
Anyway, I assume you are interested if you bothered to wade through 500 numbers on the DVLA website.
So, are you going to make an offer to purchase?

No
just bumping the ad for you ?

I will not coment on this advert or the posts above.

I just find it sad that some people are so egotistical as to want a 'personalised' number plate.

If it were just funny like some American ones I could understand, but not egotistical ones.

Really , you think that's how you feel who are you to ...... Oh wait a minute I'm doing it now lol. You make a great point. I only did this to underline your point. There are many threads on here that I have an opinion on but it's more of a personal preference than a LAW that must be followed so I keep my council and don't comment unless I can add value or info to the conversation. Well said you

You surprise me and I find this a rude patronising comment.

Any comment good or bad bumps the thread for the OP. Where would the world be if we all thought the same. (y)

Agreed, but, sometimes, thoughts are better off not said.
