Hi, the engine light has come in our Autotrail apache 2015 fiat ducato 40,000 miles. The fault code as above, we have been advised by local dealership to take it to Fiat dealership, has anyone else had similar problem and what was the cost of repair.
Surprised really as its only taken on long journeys mainly on motorways.
All advise, guidance accepted.
Thanks in advance.

Dpf sensor. Had same on my 2012 apache 700.
Few threads on here about the matter so do a search.
I used to clear mine with a cheap £10 OBD reader and app on phone. Ok for a while but eventually had to go into garage. From memory was around £160 non fiat garage done at same time they did a service.

Thank you that is most helpful, we are booked into Fiat dealership tomorrow but having read that link I do wonder if me disconnecting the OBD plug to remove a red light on the dash which was relating to the Outsmart the thief alarm has caused the engine light to come on and display thus fault.

They said it is the PDF which needs replacing but as Fiat have now modified it due to some water also getting in the pipes we have to have the modifcation too all at a cost of just under £700. Ouch!

No, to be honest we were on our way to holiday so just need to get it sorted asap. £300 is labour so all those barristers need to retrain....mechanics seems to be far better paid.

Yep, we’ve been in that situation with one of our vehicles. Needed it done fast, so had to pay up. 🤷‍♂️

If we want to get our van into our Fiat Professional Garage you need to book 2 to 3 months in advance…..so no getting anything done quickly there.(y)

Unless it is badly clogged, a long run at high speed with at least 2000rpm, will initiate self cleaning. Worth trying before booking a mechanic. Halfords also clean dpf etc quite cheaply.

I wouldn't trust halfrauds to do any work on my vehicle. Years ago, I used to repair their vehicle hoists and have seen the charts in their welfare room about what products they had to flog (shock absorbers and brake components usually) whether they were needed or not ?
A mate's Granddaughter needed a headlamp bulb changing, she asked him to do it, but he thought we'll take it to Halfords, it'll be easier. Their guy fiddled on for 10 minutes and then said "This is your problem", waving the H7 lamp socket at them. He'd obviously yanked on the wires and pulled all three out of the socket (dipped beam had been working fine previously, the main beam element only had blown) and told them they'd need to go see an autoelectrician now. No way would I let them near an expensive dpf !

Not part of the oringional post but our daughter took her mini to Halfords on a Sunday to have an os headlight bulb changed. As Jock said they told her it needs a new bulb holder so she took it to the garage we normally use. They found the os bulb had blown and the wires had been pulled out of the ns bulb holder.
I assume they were hoping for the work. I was away at the time but she needed the car for work so thought it would only be a quick job. Se went from one headlight to no headlights. Fortunately she was on day shifts.
