Well further to the (other) post this week regarding payload, I was intent on going to a weighbridge to know our actual running weight whilst en route to South Lychett Manor campsite for the weekend.

I have never known our actual weight, so with me plus her, 2 kids, 100% water, 65% diesel, food and other belongings (including 10kg hover board) I was VERY pleased with the outcome.

We are an Autotrail Arapaho tag Axel our total weight (with above) came in at 4450kg front Axel at 1850kg (plated 2100kg), and both rear Axel weighing at 2600kg (plated at 1500kg each).

This means we have plenty of room for adjustment (as I don't always need to carry a full tank of fresh water) and our future plans to A Frame (in UK) are achievable.

All recent Worries over lack of payload have been put to rest .. At least I can travel knowing where we are at. The weighbridge at G Sait scrapyard Ferndown Industrial estate only charged me £5..

A worthy exercise

I can't believe I'm the first to ask why a "Hoverboard" weighs 10kg?

So a question for my learned friends,

Q, this "hover-board has wheels" BUT if it really did hover and lets say it weighs 10kg but its hovering in the garage how much if any weight would it add to the vehicles overall weight.

Discuss.

i recall watching a mythbusters episode where they had a truck full of birds and tested the myth the truck lost weight if the birds took off.

Living the dream.
i don't think it would weigh anything till the batteries ran out, then 10 kgs.

My question was is a hover board with wheels not just a skateboard?

It wouldn’t add any weight but it would continue to exert a 10Kg force on the garage floor (unless the act of hovering was achieved by some mystical means).

So the 10kg would still be on the weight/mass of the vehicle if you were pulled over a weigh bridge.

I went to the local weighbridge yesterday, full tank of Diesel full gas (25kgs) +generator on board and some water (25kgs) but no personnel on board = 3750KG. The wife and I add up to 130Kg so 3900kg with water filled. plated at 4500Kgs, that leaves 600Kgs, for clothes and wine.........

I'll just take a T-Shirt and trollys.

Yes, it’s no different to pushing down on the top of the motorhome either physically, or, for example, by the down draught from a helicopter.

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, Newton's third I think.
