Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Just doing my PLF for next week and I'm stuck as I don't know (and the DFDS website doesn't give) the name of the ferry. I know there are only two ferries but......
I'm sure there's a simple answer.

Oh, and I gather that the LFT (FLT?? :giggler: ) test in France within 48hrs of return to U.K. is no longer necessary. Is that right? I've looked at several sites but either they haven't been recently updated or they give conflicting info.

Will you know 48 hrs before you travel? As that is when you should fill in this form.

Just put any name in, does it really matter.
Had similar with my PLF for Tunnel, I just put time of train for flight number and for seat my reg no, it was accepted.

Well it says I can part complete it now and return to complete it whilst over there. I don't have an iPhone or MiFi so am trying to do as much as poss at home on my laptop (which I'll take with me) without having to rely on possibly poor internet at a caff or wherever.

Hmm. I haven't tried putting in any ferry name. Seems odd that any name will do but I'll give it a try.
Use the reference number of your booking
O.k. Ta.

EDIT........
Ah well, putting in the ferry times instead of ferry name and seat number allowed me to proceed but I haven't saved it as now that I've got that far a new website message says that it will be deleted if not completed with 7 days.

You will need day 2tests and the code to show you have purchased them you can only fill in so much of the form until 48 hours before you arrive in Uk you will need to show your completed locator form as they want to see the QR code that you will be sent so either print your email or you will need to be connected to the internet at the port we have just done all this at calais

I tried to be sm@rt@rse with our PLF for going to Spain in the future.

Filled out the first bit and the other end said "You have received a form to fill out"

It must be the panto season. cos,

"Oh no, I haven't.!!!

Im only hoping that the Spanish gob. Will send me the Form when I'm about a month away from the trip.

Try ship name "TBN"
In is a standard maritime abbreviation where the name of the ship is To Be Named/Nominated
If the software was written by maritime programmers then TBN should work!

Thanks. Yes I'm aware that I will need the 2 day test kit (which I will have delivered to my home before leaving) and all the procedures and the need to put the 2 day test ref number on the PLF but for internet access reasons I was hoping to complete as much of the form as poss on my laptop before leaving. The website says one can save and return to the form later to finish it but it wasn't until I'd got well through the form and entered my 'Return' date that a message popped up to say that my part-completed form would be deleted if it wasn't completed within 7 days of return.
(I don't make a fuss about it but maybe I should've mentioned that I find it difficult and frustrating to use a slippery and sensitive-screen Smart phone (I don't have one or a MiFi). At 77 I still ride my motorbikes on long tours, can wind the m/h awning in and out and change a duvet cover in spite of having only a left arm and hand to use for the past ten years since a motorbike crash with a foreign 7.5 tonne lorry driver on the wrong side of a narrow country lane).

Whatever you do don’t put Titanic. Correct about not needing a test before your return. I would guess either of the ship names will do as if you’re early or late you could be placed on the other ship anyway. I just put our train time last month but we actually got on an earlier train. Nobody even checked the times.

I think I used ' Shippy MacShip Face' last time I completed a PLF - it accepted it !

I'd put the Black Pearl myself :giggle:
I'm more of a Black Pig person.

For the name of the ship on the form, I just put "Eurotunnel" and it was accepted. The form is ill thought out and I would be ashamed if I were responsible for it. A shoddy piece of work.

I seem to remember from my form filling activity that this was a standard message.

Put HMS Victory.,,no one will notice..BUSBY.

Maybe it is but although I'm a bit of a whizz with computers it wasn't obvious to me until I entered the return date.
I tend to agree with The Lord Squid that it's a very poorly designed website although I suppose hundreds of thousands must have found it O.K..

No I agree , it wouldn’t accept my 2nd vaccination QR , the people next to us couldn’t put either of their codes in .

I suppose what I am saying is please don’t let it spoil your trip and have a lovely time away.

We were asked on the PLF for the name of the train, for the Tunnel, I put “10:20” and it was accepted. It seems to be a case of put anything in that gets the form accepted

You could put HMS queen Elizabeth, i understand your frustration,in just wanting it done and out of the way ,cos you have lots of other things to sort out 48 hours before you gallivant off, im useless with computers and my daughter did my return tests in spain and my grandaughter did my locator forms and printed them off for me,good luck and happy holidays 😊

The two ships that operate that route are the seven sisters and the cote d'albatre, assuming it is TML, take your pick!

Nah, I think glenn2926 already tried that fifteen minutes ago........
When you do get the form filled in and accepted. I think there are four pages. Just screenshot the first page as that’s all they require. That’s what they told me at Caen on way back
Screenshot will save you messing to get a signal and then unable to log in like me at checkin with a somewhat annoyed person on the desk.
Why didn’t you just screenshot it last time you logged in was the cry from the booth as I endlessly tried to log in(y)

Yes, I've been using them both for donkey's years but the form asked for specific detail not 'Have a guess'. ;)

Since there were several pages of questions on the form I felt it reasonable to assume they weren't just there for fun but they needed answers to them all. :doh:Silly me.

About as subtle if using Eurostar to fill in the return station as 'Waterloo'. :giggle:
